He was relentless, ran and ran ran must've covered four times what rest of dogs did and on way home he'd look less ke he was only out for a walk. GPs some stamina. Quote Link to post

The 1 he had years ago used to do what it did out ferreting and always came back with its catch, give him it a feck off again and it done that all day.The keeper used to love watching him work Quote Link to post
jukel123 8,147 Posted Monday at 21:39 Report Share Posted Monday at 21:39 I've seen a few GWPs work. They range out long distances. They love foxes. Tough dogs. The smooth German pointers are soft in comparison so I'm told. Never actually seen any work. Quote Link to post
justdigit 183 Posted yesterday at 09:36 Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:36 Anyone know of a greyhound stud or maybe even a big strong coursing type. I want to line my GWP bitch this year. She’s a big strong bitch and has thrown her size into the pointer litters she’s had. She’s hunts and marks very well 3 Quote Link to post

Aussie Whip 4,103
I think a half cross German pointer would hunt out too much for ferreting. I had a male whippet cross grey/pointer and he could catch well and retrieve to hand, even from water but he lacked patience around a warren and would start hunting off after a few minutes. He was raised ferreting like the other dogs but it didn't suit him so I gave him to a farmer for general pest control and he was wrapped with him. Quote Link to post
