Popular Post ryaldinhio 4,591
Dont come on here too much anymore so no doubt that most of you I don't know but a happy new year to you anyway, in particular the ones that I have made friends with over the years or those that have helped/advised me along the way. I won't be staying up to see it in, I will be up early and out with the dogs and then back sorting the pigs.....thankfully that's nearly over!!!! All the best to you all. 19
jok 3,266
Good evening pal. Unfortunately you are not the only one not posting lately. I miss, very much, what we had those years ago. There are a few who still let us know what’s going on. Most of the ferreting and lurcher guys have gone very quiet which I’m guessing is the lack of rabbits. Surely there are pockets still being worked. One of my mates in Scotland is still getting a few. Jok. 2

FLATTOP 4,468 Posted Wednesday at 15:37 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 15:37 This video below was sent to my by my cousin it’s on the Isle of Dogs where I was brought up in the 60s/70s and a bit of the 80s at the beginning of the video you can see a bridge that is up known locally as the glass bridge but never had any glass in it as it was always vandalised, it’s claim to fame was featuring in a eighties TV programme called prospects, at about 26 seconds in you can see 2 blocks of flats there was 4 in total all with nautical names the two in the clip are Topmast and Midship point I Lived on the 15th floor in Topmast and 4th floor in Midship it was the councils idea of a move by moving you down a few flights lol. The ships and tugs blowing their horns was a tradition every New Years Eve to be honest it took me right back when I heard them again I used to live less than 1 minute from those docks and came from a docker family, thought I would share as it’s a really good bit of East London social History that has been long forgotten by many who lived in this very close knit community. Happy New Year….
