harryshounds 1,140
I keep mine in the house the last few yrs got rid of kennels once I didn't keep hounds anymore. My dogs all pets/workers so live in the house. But mine were two blocks high with wire mesh up to six feet. Concrete base with gully/trap tied into sewer. The blocks ment that when hosing down none of the dirty water went into the garden. Be sure the concrete is well smoothed and falls towards the drain otherwise you'll end up with puddles of piss constantly in the run, puss smells worse than shit. Good kennels with wooden bases, no bedding. Was my ideal kennels. Wish I'd a pic. Tore em down to do up the garden. The kennels actually got the best sun in the garden so still pisses me wife off that the hounds were baking while we sat in the shade 1 Quote Link to post

joe ox 2,602
Used dust free wood shavings on top of cow mat for years now, fluffed up every few days, topped up or changed when necessary. Messy but best option I've come up with to date. Anyone got better ideas? Edited January 3 by joe ox Quote Link to post

joe ox 2,602
@mC HULL all joking aside to reach full potential any dogs needs looking after properly regardless of breeding. @Black neck tried that stuff I prefer shavings, mixed together its better than either on its own just a mess on. 2 Quote Link to post

Francie, 2,269
Nice setup lads, instead of using accro drains,my mate put a 8 inch width manhole in the middle of four pens with the floor slightly sloping to manhole, with the same width pipe running underground to sewer, real easy to clean just lift the lid an everything straight down Quote Link to post
