I just thought sundarbans because of the surroundings,I have seen mugger and gharial in India and Nepal but never saw an actual saltie though they are there.  

Jaguars those are, and they hunt caiman which are related to alligators, impressive as hell aren't they.

Have you ever read the book the man eating leopard of Rudrapayg by Jim Corbett mate. Gives you an insight how smart these big cats are.

id lean with stiff it’s a a wild big animal they won’t damage there self unneccessarily go for what’s easy

It's a good read mate though in a different time about a male man eating leopard that terrorised the territory it roamed for years killing over a hundred people . One part in the book tells of it entering a dwelling were 3 people were asleep side by side and it took the middle one without the others waking. A lot of the natives of remote Indian villages it target believed it was some form of devil and not just a leopard with a taste for human flesh.

Think it's a mugger mate, the grey colour and relatively broad head.
