leegreen 2,165
They want 8k to sort mine out. 2 root canals plus crowns, an implant and removal of two pointless wisdom teeth. None of which are giving me any trouble and the dentist is a customer of mine. He did say £ notes are better,we can talk about it the cost and he'd let me pay in bits. But even so, farkin expensive. Harley Street eh! Might go down the Gypo route and get some gold ones. Anyone sporting gold hampsteads?
tatsblisters 9,570
Not an NHS dental practice i presume going on the price for your dental treatment. Makes you wonder why there is less NHS dentist in operation and was it purposely done so folk would be forced into paying more for another necessity that we all need at some time or another. I made sure I always keep my appointments with my NHS dentist practice so as to not cost me a fortune if I had to pay private.

It just so happens my customer has got his own practice. he looked at a past CT scan I had and gave me a once over on the bench outside, using my Maglight. My mate was carrying a pipe with another guy in work flange each end , so he's in front guy behind walked his end into a steel beam , my mate face planted into the flange his end and knocked his gold tooth out snapped whatever attached it and has spent about 4k getting it sorted and replaced. I'm lucky at 47 never had a filling.

Then there is the skill and reliability of the individual dentist. Then the big one, the guarantee, if any. The after care and come backs. I'd like to be able to go knock on a door if summit went wrong. I'm sure there's loads of decent dentist over there, as there will be all over the world. I've seen decent work from a few countries, Hungary, Thailand and Turkey. Anyways it's early days and Im only doing it for vanity and of course my diet of nuts and pulses. I'm lucky at 47 never had a filling. The two teeth that need root canal where smashed 25 years ago. A Land Rover was on a 4' farm jack, the vehicle slipped and the handle came uphit me up the jaw and took me off my feet. Didn't quite knock me out, but there were stars. I had a mouth full of blood with what I thought were jaw bone bits turns out the bits were teeth. I've had the fixed twice since then and they told me it was gonna be root canal eventually. The implant for the other side was a tooth I lost years ago. Went through a front door 40 odd years ago, having a bit of a bundle at a party. Apart from that my teeth are in good order, apart from a bit of wear and tear. Oh, I once had a pull saw pinch up a tree, I pushed really hard to free it, the blade shattered and a piece chipped both my top and bottom incisors. It also cut both my top and bottom lip, blood pissing everywhere, the owner of the tree screamed when I knocked for a cloth for the blood. Now I've got to dig deep if I want to keep my Hollywood smile. It's a joke Dentist cost in this country. You're lucky and you've been careful with your teeth.
