Hatch28 243
A friend is planning to breed a litter of collie hounds, now Im no expert and I dont keep lurchers any more but I was always of the understanding to put a collie dog over a greyhound bitch, now he was told the other way around greyhound dog collie bitch,so to all the collie Lurcher men opinions please. leegreen 2,165
Tell him, don't bother All joking aside, I'd go the way you thought. For the simple reason, the bigger bitch would carry the pups better and the chance of increasing the size of the running dog wanted. What dogs has he got lined up? Quote Link to post

It doesnt make any difference. The pups do all their growing after they been born. All that matters is wether or not the parents are worth breeding from, are they doing the biz? 1 Quote Link to post

Bred several litter of F1 hybrids,.. using Collies and Greyhounds as Sires and Dams,...and other than the Greyhound bitches producing larger litters,.. we have found very little genetic difference.....Facts are,.. with this particular hybridisation,.. although physicality is obviously of prime importance,. the most essential quality to aim for is,...TEMPERAMENT.....because if you ain't got that, and tractability in abundance,.. then really,...you have achieved nothing...
