1.5 million signatures and climbing still ...its a embarrassing show of discontent for Labour if nothing else.

What's it at now,an can we watch it being brought up in the whacko house,an who will be responsible for bringing it up?

Iv seen starmer answer questions,he doesn't give a f**k it's all a big joke to him.

It will never get debated as they will just say "We have just had a general election" that will be enough to allow it to be ignored legally, I watched Black Belt Barrister explain it earlier.

It'll give the opposition a few bullets but it's hardly much in the scheme of the voting demographic, how many did Blair's poll get the most recent I believe it was for him to face war crimes, there's an arrest warrant out for the Israeli..rightly or wrongly.

I despise this government but wont sign the petition. They were democratically voted in and it is the people that did that who need to shoulder the blame. Signing the petition would put me in the same boat as the pro brexit mob who wanted another referendum almost straight after the result didn't go their way and I despise them as well. The county council elections May next year will be the time to show Labour what the nation really think, until then we should just suck it up!

Great post, exactly !

The more people suffer the better it will be, something massive is required and that won’t happen if people feel even mildly ok.

I get your point but I also think there are vast differences here ,Brexit was a result of direct democracy in its purist form, it was a simple in or out question, Labour on the other hand campaigned on a manifesto that went straight in the bin the moment they grabbed power by proxy, I think people have every right to contest the GE result based on those points alone....this petition won't force a  GE I think we all know that,  but it is one of the thousand paper cuts needed to destroy those globalist cum buckets. People are daring to peer behind the curtin and  they are starting to see the truth of the stitch up that's at play ...get these imposter out they are not our representatives and anything that causes them damage is all fair play in my book.

Not so sure about that, some may argue we were spun a line about Brexit as well. Boris Johnson claimed there would be an extra 350 million to spend on the NHS amongst other promises but they never materialised!

I get the anger I really do but I wonder how many of the people who signed the petition voted labour or even bothered to vote at all, they are the ones to blame as anyone with half a brain cell knew what was coming if Labour won.

Sorry but this country and its people deserve everything it gets now the only way to show this government what the people really think is for the entire country to down tools (which wont happen as we are all too selfish) or the next local elections. My guess is there wont be much change even then, politics as a whole is a shit stain on this country and there isnt one party that are even close to being what we need to get us out of this rut.

I agree that Labour were democratically elected, but democracy also allows us to petition the government if they blatantly lied to us and ignore their manifesto pledges.

Starmer is on record castigating the Tories for thinking of stopping the pensioners winter fuel allowance and saying Labour would never do it; then the very first thing they do is remove it.

Starmer and Reeves are on record stating they wouldn’t put up national insurance , but they have.

Starmer is on record saying Labour wouldn’t apply Inheritance Tax on family owned farms, but they have.

This is just some of their manifesto pledges they have gone back on.

They blame the “£20 billion black hole” the Tory’s left, but as I think it was Wilf who pointed out, it’s not £20 billion, its £2 TRILLION !!!! and everyone knew about that ‘ it’s not like Labour opened the piggy bank and suddenly discovered we were skint !

Will the petition bring about another General Election ? No, what it will do is let them know the depth of feeling in the country.

There are hundreds of new Labour MP’s that were looking forward to at least two terms, ten years, with their noses in the parliamentary trough, but now will start feeling a bit uneasy and maybe pressure the government to change track.

So, yes, I signed the petition and hope many more do.

Cheers.

Not forgetting labour won back seats in redwall constituencys that previously tories had won these seats like Rother Valley nr me were a lot of folk now regret voting a labour MP in for the area so that MP should be worried about the feelings towards him though unless he stands down and forces a by election wich is very unlikely the views of people from that area won't bother him until nearer the date of the next GE.
