Welsh_red 4,628
It's a bit of a long shot but I know a few on here are involved in sports so some of you might have knowledge of this game camera A few clubs in our league have the veo camera set up on a tripod to record there games , the camera follows the ball around the pitch and can be used for analysis of the games but basically what it's good for is to rewatch the goals and the 50/50 challenges after the games .. The device itself is 1.3k then a monthly subscription afterwards for the editing software to pick apart the games . In a act of incredible generosity the local chip shop owner has offered to buy one for the club . He's a bit gutted he's missing all the games every Saturday running the chippy so wants to be able to to watch it all back when he gets the time Every club I've spoken to that have it have said it's a great camera but some of the reviews online are dreadfull when it comes to after care if theirs ever a problem so I'm just looking to see if anybody on here has this camera or one like it and can give me their opinion on it

Im not sure the full capabilities of the editing software because I don’t own my own but from a rewatch/freeze/replay the momentary action you want to analyse they are smart. All depends what you use it for really, if you just want to watch a game back then having someone film who knows to follow the players and not the ball is as cheap and basic as it gets. But Veo is programmed to follow without an operator. You can also use them and add time stamp comment to share amongst a team for coaching purposes. It automatically time stamps up key moments like free kick, goal, goal kick, corner etc, at least they are all titles on the videos I watch and I can’t imagine the lads who share them to me have sat and done that themselves. gnasher16 30,045
The little club im involved with have them i dont understand the technology of them and how they work but they're a useful tool, apart from games i know our coach uses them during training and makes copies of the session to give the players kind of like homework so they can watch back corners/set pieces they have planned etc rather than constant on pitch drills the players can become familiar in their own time ,so they have different uses. I know at lower and non league level there is controversy about the legalities of them,so at the moment theres no strict rules in place to stop an away team rocking up at your home ground setting up the tripod and away they go,but its just basic common courtesy to ask the home sides permission but not everythings as simple.....likewise theres often commotion about whether the home side are obliged to share the footage with the opponents they have filmed. Another legality issue is whether the pitch is on private or public land, obviously where theres multiple pitches on public ground that can represent privacy/data protection problems i know last year a club local to us ended up having to forward footage that was used as evidence in court to put away a random spectator ! There will definitely be some kind of FA legislation come out soon regarding use of the cameras as they are certainly not going away any time soon....being as they are now on i think its the 4th or 5th generation of the technology they are only going to become more popular so rules and regs will be needed. Its not just footie they are used either its pretty much any team game rugby, basketball all sorts.
