Put that energy into them and they'll give it their best. Keep telling them they're useless and they will be, same as kids. Quote Link to post
KyleMorris 0
Good post, always interesting to hear about different breeding lines. I've got a similar cross myself, though I've always used a Saluki x greyhound for the longdog side. Find they give a bit more stamina for the longer chases. How do you find the whippet cross copes with thicker cover? Quote Link to post
poxon 5,722
I know this thread is written as if it belongs in the country man’s weekly and to get people to nibble . I like all running dogs all crosses I favour beddy mixes as I tend to get the most out this cross or should I say I did as I’ve chucked in the towel with working dogs for now but to claim the whippet greyhound was the best rabbit dog is completely lunacy the collie x greyhound still holds the best cross title for this day an night and doing numbers Quote Link to post
chartpolski 23,190
When someone says something is the “best in the world” you can usually bet it isn’t ! Im one of the least breed blind in the game, I’ve seen all types of pures and crosses do very well, from beddy types right through to deerhound crosses. Probably the best “all rounder “, ( yes, I know this term means different things to different people), was Bruce the rescue dog, and the only thing we know about him is that his dam was a greyhound. As I obviously haven’t seen every running dog, there would most likely have been even better dogs than him, so it’s best to keep an open mind when it comes to what is “best”. Cheers. 3 Quote Link to post
