No better feeling than bringing a dog on from a pup...giving them a spin at 10/11 month old and  watching it take it's first rabbit/fox/deer etc...no drug comes close Neck😔

A pic of a few dogs owned by London lads in the past. The white bitch was the litter sister to the great grand dam to lucky the dark destroyer i believe. The brindle bitch was a fx saluki greyhound.

Mate my Wheaton x bitch is 27 tts and 80/90 lb fighting weight...had her out ferreting from first jabs with longnets etc, around the harris/gos hawks, she's done everything you would use a whippet/smal

Million % goly . But banger said its a different style of dog needed for the 3 months that count. Dancer bullied hares

Dancer was in the breeding of billy the father of the dog that you comment on that i sold to kipper. Same stamp as the dog in the clip ice 🤔. But must be shit as you said in the previous comment.

Never seen him run, he could kill hares but I’ve heard people say he was a plodder, which is surprising because all of the Cindy x Nero litter were rapid, I don’t think they would of turned out any faster if I’d of used a greyhound, my bitch had unreal speed and caught plenty on small land, I’d of been no better off with a whippet greyhound on small land because she was so fast but she had plenty of blow aswell

Were you happy with how the pups turned out from that dog? Would you do that breeding again off Nero's offspring or were they lacking in any way?

Very happy with them but Cindy brown bread now so can’t do that again

Is that the route you would always take now, coursing bred back to pure? I reckon that's what mC is thinking of next, I can tell.

No I wouldn’t always do it, only to the right bitch that would ideally be quite tightly bred then outcross to a pure and you get that hybrid vigour when the pups turn out better than either parent, doesn’t always work but I do like a fast type coursing bred back to pure, I personally wouldn’t put a pure back to mCs bitch as she is already out of a pure so a lot of the pups could end up like pures and be to steady imo but you never know

Sticks famous old bitch swoop, direct off Merlin and Eve, very good staying bitch loved the black land, she was the mother to Caulfield’s Joe

Bet their was a few who thought the money was in the bag when they matched this bitch without seeing her run before hand. Remember hearing about a decent brocken coated bitch called tiger with the same blood same bitch is in an old clip with M.D and Clive Amos and watching her kill an hare on Crowland were she stuck to it like velcro before killing it. Pity it came on top shortly after as i would have loved to have seen her run a few more.

Proper bitch and hare and less than 6 mins.

Genuine question so save your laughing face reactions if it’s daft please.

how would say a very good fit collie grey fare against a hare and ground like this? If over the months it run 20 very similar land and hare how many would you expect it to take? Say a 3/4 grey??

Hares not my game at all. I’ve run a  handful on small ground and most get away 😂👍🏼

Mine caught regularly mate wherever I went, that was local, North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, obviously it wasn't killing 3 and 4 every time it went out.

Most types will catch a hare if they have a decent percentage of running dog in them but it doesn’t make them “hare dogs”.

The saluki hybrid is undoubtedly, in my mind, the best “hare dog”, but that doesn’t necessarily make them the best lurcher.

”Horses for courses “, as they say.

Cheers.

PS, no such thing as “daft questions”, only “daft answers” 👍
