No better feeling than bringing a dog on from a pup...giving them a spin at 10/11 month old and  watching it take it's first rabbit/fox/deer etc...no drug comes close Neck😔

A pic of a few dogs owned by London lads in the past. The white bitch was the litter sister to the great grand dam to lucky the dark destroyer i believe. The brindle bitch was a fx saluki greyhound.

Mate my Wheaton x bitch is 27 tts and 80/90 lb fighting weight...had her out ferreting from first jabs with longnets etc, around the harris/gos hawks, she's done everything you would use a whippet/smal

I think mC is saying the best dogs won't be catching the best hares in one or two minutes. I'm not sure I necessarily agree with him but it's impossible to guage, some men claim that it shouldn't take 3 mins for the best dogs to make the kill. Lol

But that's just common sense obviously there no all gonna go under 1/2  minutes anyone who says other wise hasn't ran hares 3/4/5 /6 minutes is a good grueller but to be claiming that the top hares are only getting caught at 5/6 minutes on a consistent basis is baloney as fast and up and at then type with plenty of wind isn't letting them get that far along.

I agree with you both, but the thing is, the dog can only run what's in front of it. An average dog can make a an average hare look great, a poor hare can make an average dog look great.

I'm sick of the talk, when you gift me the pick of the litter I'll show mC what fast dogs can do! Lol

on a strong hare there’s no fast types you just seen that with lucas run they have to sit in and hold on wear the hare down

Mate, if he'd had sat back any more he'd have lost earlier in cover.

my bitch isn’t as fast as lucas but her brains better than mine and my brain would a said right i’ve got it out a cover it’s in open dykes about im going to cruise up that’s flying then i’d a cruised up because the hare wants that cover so it’s coming back past me then ran it with brain not braun lol

Correct  and a dog that applies more pressure is going to cause the hare into making more mistakes so a 6 minute for one dog might be 4 minutes for the other because it's forcing the hare into making more moves rather than just sitting off the hare  You could sit and argue until the cows come home but it's all different variations lad , weather , running conditions and land lol

Like a spring day here, crocus’s, Daffs all coming out . Over 70 in my greenhouses.

Surprised a fox lying sunning itself a couple of hours ago on my way to the allotment. Bitch lad a lunge at it as it went over a fence into the gardens, lucky b*****d.

I’ll only run a hare now when I want one for the pot.

Busy time at the allotments just now getting everything ready for spring !

Cheers.
