No better feeling than bringing a dog on from a pup...giving them a spin at 10/11 month old and  watching it take it's first rabbit/fox/deer etc...no drug comes close Neck😔

A pic of a few dogs owned by London lads in the past. The white bitch was the litter sister to the great grand dam to lucky the dark destroyer i believe. The brindle bitch was a fx saluki greyhound.

Mate my Wheaton x bitch is 27 tts and 80/90 lb fighting weight...had her out ferreting from first jabs with longnets etc, around the harris/gos hawks, she's done everything you would use a whippet/smal

Buy droppers ffs Trev70 had about 5 on him after ferreting. I didn't buy them. Lol. He only put 2 down gave them about 150 yards. At the time they were nearly on hedge row by time we slipped pup lol. Am saying f***ing hell. He said its fine let them get settled down abit. Not just dropping then slipping pup at a few foot like these c**ts your on about on youtube. Then he just let the other 3 go in the area. No point in just killing them when pup had done what we was hoping for using its mouth straight away. But you will get dogs that will just run them an not use it's mouth.

Sorry mate that don't make sense..

Why would you slip a 5 month pup on a dropped rabbit at 150 yards, when they're nearly at the hedge?

Your putting the pup.at a disadvantage which most won't make up. Surely your first runs with any pup you stack all.tje odds in the pups favour.. im not into droppers personally, and at that age the pup would be exposed to a bit of ferreting , holding rabbits in the nets etc..

The first few runs would-be on a wet and windy night, walking right up to squatters and slipping straight away, middle of field put all the odds on the pup catching them.. f**k giving a rabbit 150 yard head start on a 5 month pup, you'll sicken them that way...

My last lurcher didn't need a dropper to get it's mouth going, the little c**t half swallowed a rabbit at 6-7 months old, had to pull the cnut out it's throat. Lol

That's a bad habit mate. I don't want to see a dog pulling puddings out an trying to eat the c**t. A like a dog to be soft mouthed ffs. Like a said I eat most that I used to catch. Nothing worse than skinning them an seeing all meat ripped up an blood clots.

It wasn't a habit pal, it was either the first or one of the first times it ever caught a rabbit. It was never soft mouthed mind, hares and rabbits were always dead when he caught them.

Most of the dogs ive brought up would bring them back to hand. Like I said a did with terriers with 1lb dummy an skin for cover . With the lurcher pups I'd strap a skin around. Throw it down local field  getting them to retrieve it back to hand. Nothing worse than a dog killing an you having to walk a good distance. You learn them to be soft mouthed. I've had them where they've just scruffed  them back to hand. Nothing wrong with them. Just abit where they've first got hold from first strike. Other than that the meat was perfect. Like a say im not into killing and not bring it home for slow cooker. Most things would be in there with some veg. Can't beat the slow coolers to soften the meat
