Obviously I'm not talking 3 or 4 of the best winter hares, but I'd always fancy one. It's hard to tell on video isn't it, sometimes it looks like they're not flying, better gauge in person. mate thats a good camcorder full zoom them fields are huge there covering youd be shocked if you slipped a 3\4 grey on there lol the hare would just take the piss take it on a tour until it stopped 1 1 Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,375 Posted yesterday at 14:18 Report Share Posted yesterday at 14:18 If you want a dog that settles in behind a hare for 5,6,7,8, minutes, and can do three out of three, that’s fine. If you want a whizz banger that can do one in quick time or maybe even two, then that’s also fine. I used to like the former, but due to now wanting to be on the land of off again quickly, I now prefer the latter. “Horses for courses”, or “Hounds for grounds”, as they say. Your dog….your choice ! Cheers. 1 1 Quote Link to post

Down england the hares are more willing to take the dogs on where as in Scotland the hares mostly heading for a destination dogs got to be adding some pressure more and also have the wind to sit in when needed Never ran any further down country but your spot on up here the hares know exactly where they want to go and it’s up to the dog to work them of that destination and be will to jump and hit cover this one of mine probably catch 2/3rd after they hit cover what I love the most is when he’s boxing it from a spot and it all most seems like there at a stand still then drops that gear and scoops up ….. in that moment there nothing else going on in the whole world other than that dog working that hare 2 Quote Link to post

Some certainly do look quick, but then you think is it a poor hare, as I said, I think it is hard to guage on video, you don't get the sense of speed that get watching it in real life. I do think our hares down here are better than the one's up the North East though. Lol Quote Link to post
