Kept me going down the pit that's all I used to take for my snap. Going to get a pot of it this weekend 😋

My Nan & Grandad used to religiously feed it to me on toast cooked over the coal fire on an extended fork, the dark jelly bits were to die for good childhood memories, me grandad used to say get it down yer son it will put hairs on yer chest lol 😂

TBH mate i only really started eating it when i worked down the pit on white sliced bread and could cram a decent few slices into my Acme snap tin as other sandwiches would turn to mush nearly with the heat in some places down the pit i worked. A pot of it is on the shopping list this Saturday though i don't know how it will go down with sourdough bread as that's the only bread i eat these day's.

Tripe was another. My grandma used to call at local market street for the white honeycomb type tripe for my great grandfather an his snuff at the tobacco shop. Tried both lol. Used too put abit of vinegar an salt on the tripe. That's gone now the little shop at the side of the market street. Remember on a Saturday going to see him. He'd be there sat watching horse racing. Telling all kids to shut up talking 🤣🤣. He was abit of a b*****d. A recall my grandad saying at the time him an my grandma were engaged 18 years of age. An he come knocking on the car window outside the house. Telling my grandmother to get in the house. She told him to piss off im 18 years old an its only 10 o'clock at night. How times have changed.

It's full of oddments furg I'm gonna have 2 eat like feck

Lol, I bought a spare one specifically for the purpose.

Beginning of October I turn it off, defrost it, wipe it down dry, ready for the start of 'the season,' and wait, anxiously, until I can use it again.

Shouldn't be too much longer.  🙂
