"Reputations are never built on what a person is going to do".......henry ford.....

also, and this is my favourite

The wonder of the world

The beauty and the power,

The shapes of things,

Their colours, lights and shades,

These I saw.

Look ye also while life lasts

That just about sums it all up for me....

I have read your favorite quotation earlier this week. There is an article in The Field from last November, about Denys Watkins-Pitchford,better known by his pseudonym "BB". He wrote in various shooting publications, and used this quote (copied from a grave in Cumberland) to preface his books.

Very nice words,I wonder who originally wrote it?

Don't know but would love to find out. I have a good few "BB" books.....all top class, and its obvious to see he was a true country lover. His writing is easy on the eye and his descriptions are crystal. He was a huge influence on me when i was younger reading his "Little grey men", then "Lord of the forest" and brendan chase....

Its a shame there isnt anyone around like him now to fill the vaccuum he left when he died. Thankfully i have a good few cuttings of his work from old shooting times.....JD

'Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before' Joseph Campbell

And from Nietzsche, of course...

'One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly'

'The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself'
