I bought the girlfriend some lovely female koi betta and they only lasted couple of months .

regarding fighting cocks I read about people crossing Serama with old English game bantams calling them tabletop bantams I never found any oegb hens when I had my Serama trio years ago would loved to of tried breeding them.

I've got a male koi plakat type in my tank here and he seems happy enough but he would be happier in a jar like the Thai keep them in making himself a bubble nest etc rather than in the flow of a filtered aquarium.

Apparently they can be kept together in their big batch of fry for a long time and will only start scrapping after being separated into their own tanks so you would think it would be easier to manage them all together in a big vat rather than feeding individual bottles like that.

 They reckon if one male from a batch of fry beats another from a different batch then all his brothers will be the same and beat all the other batch.
