Watched it this morning mate. Often wonder what places like this were like 60 years ago and wondered if any lad's did any fishing off that beach he went to view.

Fished it many a time mate

my aunt lived around the corner from the church at Emma court no scruffy gardens or dumped rubbish never really seen any trouble

Sunderland is a city on the rise, gentrification is just around the corner,it used to be really bad in the 1980’s,mind the last time I was up for a friends funeral I went to the place he impacted after jumping off the A19 bridge,I lit a really nice candle on the road where he landed, went back a short while later and someone had nicked the f***ing candle.

When I lived at home it was just me my mam and sister in a 2 bedroom house, I had the little bedroom and mam and my sister had bunk beds in the big bed room. It only had a tiny garden, that I had filled with kennels and ferret cages and a hawk mews.  Back then you used to get these book club buying offers in the tabloids. We're you signed up and got the first 5 books virtually for nothing but then had to buy a books every month at full price. So I used sign up and get first free books then fook it off lol. I used get some weird and wonderful books to satisfy my thirst for life. Some books I once got was on cock fighting. Poor old mum absolutely drew the line at me keeping cocks in the garden as well lol. And my cock fighting career ended right there lol.

Never watched one in real life though watching them online i find them memorising and would love to watch one in the flesh so to speak it's another thing that would be on my bucket list to travel to a country where it's legal to to watch.

As a kid I read a paragraph in a Plummer book about cockfighting in the Philippines, when I lived in Hong Kong it was cheap to fly to Manila,I went a few times to the Araneta in Quezon City for the world championships, then when I moved over to Mindanao I went most Sundays,it’s huge business over there, the atmosphere in a decent cockpit is incredible,go if you can, every village, town, city has cockfighting on Sundays, something you would never forget.post-1930-0-35187700-1308383792_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-63519200-1308992596_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-57435300-1309000249_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-83607800-1309453664_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-46115400-1309453924_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-18112700-1309454962_thumb.jpgpost-1930-0-56728900-1311414914_thumb.jpg

Still can in the north of France, but the aRSePCA have been known to collect UK registration plates.

Im not long back from Thailand & there was game looking fowl everywhere, I was riding an elephant through the jungle & a pair of stags were at it outside a hut, the mahoot pointed at them laughing & said 'Muay Thai'!

Could have watched it in Bangkok,Chatuchak.

I went to the weekend market there, the day before I left. Which was 2 weeks before the earthquake.

The animal section of the market is surreal, they had a big fire not long before so was slightly less to see, but at every turn just wasn't sure what I'd see, which kinda sums up Bangkok 😆
