I admit to not being very clued up on airguns in general even though I have always owned one since the 70s my first being a BSA meteor and now just an HW 80 that I rarely shoot these days. The son inlaw messaged me last night telling me about someone he knows selling a collection of airguns and the BSA mercury was on the price list and fancied buying it more for nostalgia than anything. Is there anything else on the list worth having.

The Webley Raiders are well worth having at that price because they fetch more than those prices in the shops. There is one in my rfd at £400.             The old BSA Mercurys are nice, I have one which is a nice gun to shoot.

Been and had a look at them tonight after work and bought the sharp and the mercury. The relum tornado was in reasonable nick tbh but took some cocking lol. The Diana original wernt in bad nick.

Local gun shop has a relum in at £275 though not sold it in couple month it might have had uprated spring fitted or be dry ? I would of chanced it and stuck it on guntrader or gunstar for £100 lol.

Proper character lad who was selling them for his old mate that was a refreshing change from the bland people i am around most days. The two guns I bought i might have a go at doing them up at a later date been looking on the Internet for a back and front sight for the mercury . The last time I handled a tornado was when I was about 14 and then it seemed an heavy gun compared to the meteor I had though handling that one last night it was nothing weight wise compared to my hw 80.

It’s a great well made gun and as you say extremely accurate but bloody heavy, seeing as we are on the subject of classics I’ve also got a 177 BSA Cadet 1953 I believe but needs a complete refurbishment.

This is my first air rifle since I was a spotty snottery kid an had ole rusty things haha but I like the look of that little light thing that’s tats has bought, might have to look into summat smaller an lighter, doing a lot a rats around piggeries just now an a smaller one be handy
