Bangersanmash 3,676
My lad went fishing with his pal today. Been hitting river Calder but getting ghosted due to all shite from shit works. So told him to try this bit of canal that I used to go too that held some decent size perch. Just sent me a pic of this beast what would you say. It's a big fish by the placement of his fingers. Gave him a few jellys , lures , spinners too that a got off temu. Bangersanmash 3,676
Just been on phone with him. Said was only there about an hour & half had 17 fish out. When he got that decent perch on he thought it was a pike at first with the rod bent over. Said when it surfaced couldn't believe his eyes the size of it for a perch. He's still green. But a said at least your not getting ghosted. Or hitting these syndicate lakes with carp that's mouths look like that chap of silence of the lambs that gets fed to the pigs. It's shocking when you see carp like that. Don't make a good pic. Are lass had one done on canvas for my youngest lad. Big large thing for his bedroom wall. Even he was like am not putting that up mum. Lol Edited October 6, 2024 by Bangersanmash 1 Quote Link to post

philpot 5,042
Lovely fish and interestingly, I never used soft plastics however a couple of years ago i was fishing my local river using MH Custom lures (my go to lures) but no pike were showing at all so just as a random attempt to catch something I put on a softy and within two casts I caught my PB perch, 4lb 9oz. I also thought it was a pike, I was really excited and tried to get a photo of it while holding it to give scale but it was a real handful although I did manage a couple of poor photos. Next cast, 3lb 1oz followed by another 19 perch in just over an hour, madness, I went back the next day with a pal, not a touch nor have I caught in that spot since. Must have been a shoal on the move but a session I will not forget. Phil 2 Quote Link to post
