I was quite surprised at this , but looking deeper into it, it seems the Chaggosians from Mauritius will be allowed to return to the Chagos Islands but not to Diego Garcia, as we now have a 99 year lease on it.

The Americans must be happy enough with this as they basically run Diego Garcia and have an airbase and deep water port on the island.

There are B- 1 , B-2 and B52 bombers based there and a Space command Station.

I remember the B52’s flying from there and stopping at Jeddah Air Base where we refuelled and replenished them on their way to Iraq to deliver “Shock & Awe “ during the Gulf War.
