chartpolski 23,167
An amazing life; he was a Rhodes Scholar, went to Oxford, a Golden Gloves boxer, a US Army Ranger helicopter pilot as well as an actor, singer and songwriter. Ive got the Highwaymen CD in my car, love the old nostalgic cowboy songs. Cheers.

eastcoast 4,110
1 of those musicians that I always enjoyed without becoming a massive fan as such. Did not know that he had been a scholar, boxer and served in the armed forces, but do now thanks to an earlier post. Makes sense, singing a song well has more to do than just having a good voice. KK could sing a song, tell a story with his voice. The best singers tend to have lived a life. Having said that, always thought Janis Joplin did the best rendition of Bobby McGee. RIP (respect for standing up for a little Irish lass).
