Theoretically, you can be sentenced to four years for a first offence of carrying a bladed instrument. And more time for actually using a knife or for a second offence. The honourable member for Geordieland is correct. You can be sentenced for carrying a Swiss army knife. This has actually happened. I find , that whenever I am bent on horrific post code violence, it is safer to carry my bladed instrument in a tool box in the boot of my car. This virtually eliminates me from prosecution. Sentences for knife possession ( 50000 prosecutions last year) tend to be dealt with too leniently imo. Basically the jails are full of old ladies sentenced to two years in prison for a shocked rant on social media concerning the stabbing of three children. The honourable member for Ireland and racial equality believes black skin possessed by young men is the determining factor behind knife crime. However, myself, the dishonourable member for Salford, am more inclined to believe that multiple deprivation( poverty) is the main cause of youth violence. The stats show that high levels crime occurs in the least wealthy of London boroughs. This is true worldwide. Inequality breeds crime. The more equal a society the less violence exists. Check it out . I hear many say,not for the first time, that I am talking shit. That many of us experienced poverty and did not tuck machetes down our pants. But when a whole sub culture glorifies crime and even have their own rap ( crap) music indoctrinating them into carrying blades and guns, then blood on pavements is inevitable. Glasgow used to be the murder capital of Europe. There was no black skin there. Poverty and gang culture was the problem there as well. But they shook off that tag with efforts from all sorts of people. Google it if you are interested. Edited September 28 by jukel123

But here's the thing, if you knew the implications of carrying your precious knife wherever you go, that knife would be kept at home, I know you might get upset, kick the cat and vent on here, but the knife would stay on the barge rather than risk ten year. Lol But, if you don't think we should have more restrictions, harsher sentences, etc, fine, but stop posting boring news about it when someone is stabbed, that ain't going to change a damn thing is it William Wallace? Lol i quite honestly feel lost without my knife and guaranteed if it's not in my pocket i will need it think ive used mine at least three times today

Have you left school yet mate because you just don’t seem to be able to grasp anything there are more than enough laws to sort out the problem just enforce them constantly bringing in new laws is just about removing civil liberty and tarring everyone with the same brush, there are not many days in my life I don’t use a knife and I should be allowed to continue and not branded the same as some inner city savage, the police would not differentiate under your guidelines unless you are once again just attempting to get a rise ??

I should have clarified earlier that I meant illegal weapons. Of course a few have got a little excited and believe I meant all people should be given ten year blanket ban when they haven't done anything wrong.
