I got a box for my mothers uncle who was a retired marine engineer.

His name on the box and each individual cigar.

Im sure I saw his eyes moisten as he looked at them and I’ll bet he was thinking of his time steaming around the South China and Andaman Seas…..

Cheers.

I like the sound of that charts. I could be a right flash xxxx with my name on my cigars 😄.

I'll ask him when I see him over the next few days mack .  I know it's in the arse end of nowhere. To see a doctor , you have to go on a two hour boat ride to the next island , and when he comes home , he has to get a small boat to an island , then a bigger boat to a bigger island , then a small plane to somewhere else , before he can get on a big plane to somewhere civilised.

Visayas maybe, or off palawan.

I’m pretty sure I can get Cuban cigars here Mel. If you want I can look into it and work out prices etc ;)

That would be outstanding mush , thankyou very much indeed mate. Your efforts are very much appreciated 👍

I love Cuban cigars , but I'm also starting to look at other half decent cigars .

I used to smoke Cubans years ago , but it's only been very recently that I've started having the odd cigar again .

I was only ever interested in how they tasted before , but now I've started taking a bit more notice of the backstory . Until recently I didn't even know that cigar tobacco was seasoned for years.

They have loads of different types, brands etc. Give me a list of types you want etc and I’ll look into it. The tobacconist is 2mins from my house and they have all sorts. So it’s no problem asking when I go to buy my 30g Golden Virginia for 6€

Two old pals of mine, Captain Ron Edwards and “little” Jeff Dickinson, built a boat on the Red Sea in Saudi and sailed it to the Philippines and bought one of those small islands with the intention of starting a Dive School.

They soon found it that it wasn’t as easy as they thought, having to boat in water, food, fuel, supples, building materials etc. and it fell through. Jeff headed off to the Florida Keys and joined a gold diving salvage team and was in the film “ The Gold of the Ochatya”.
I got a call from his ex wife a couple of years ago to inform me he had hung himself from the mast of his boat in Panama after getting into “financial difficulties “.

Ron decided to sail his boat to America single handed, he was in his 70’s and was never heard of again.

He wrote a book called “In Defence Of Moral Hedonism” and he gave me the original draught manuscript.

Being an “Adventurer doesn’t always end well….

Cheers.

Those gurkha sampler packs would be a good place to start mush . Each pack has different cigars inside , and are made in different places.

I'm still at the " I love them all" stage , of my relationship with cigars.

Guy I knew locally in the UK opened a dive shop in the Philippines, his security guard shot him dead.

Aquaintance of mine in London was on the run from the states for money laundering and growing some decent sized cannabis crops. Hid out in the Philippines for a few years till the DEA found him, spent a few years in a pinoy prison fighting extradition, cost him a few quid in lawyers fees over the years, he is a shadow of his former self nowadays, his health is f****d partly due to his time inside and partly due to his wild lifestyle. Some strange types wash up in the PI.

That's two very sad endings to two very cool sounding lives.

My brother has recently had a house built out there . It took forever to build , and cost way more than was expected.

My brother and myself are polar opposites in most ways . He's travelled the world,  and I've been to the isle of Wight 😄.

He's got a young local girlfriend,  but I'm guessing he's fed up of his new house and girlfriend,  and that's why he's back here for a few weeks . He can't stay still for long.
