Bass fishing kit

Recommended Posts

I’m looking to put together a solid bass fishing kit but not sure what essentials I need to include. I’ve got the basics like a rod and reel, but I’m wondering what specific lures, baits, and gear are must-haves for bass fishing. Should I focus more on soft plastics, crankbaits, or topwater lures? And how much do I need to adjust my kit for different seasons or water conditions? I also want to know if it’s worth investing in a tackle box with specific compartments for organization, or if that’s overkill.

Any advice?

I don’t do it now but used to do a bit of bass lure fishing and I favoured hard baits over soft plastics . Not because they are better , just because I liked collecting jdm lures . My favourites were ima hound glide , ima sasuke , longin franky , longin hi standard , and megabass zonk . Top water wise have a look at xorus patchinko , xorus asturie and  mechanic lures auto walker. Colours I favored in hardbaits were cotton candy , joker , 500g , yellow , white and sand bora . For soft plastics , savage gear sandeel , savage gear gravity sticks ,  fiish black minnows and pays bass jj minnows in white , yellow , pink and silver . I only ever used one rod which was an hto nebula 12-42 gram with a 3000 size stradic and  either 26lb suffix 832 or 20lb suffix 131 . I had one box with individual compartments for top waters and another for sub surface hard baits and used clear plastic pencil cases for soft plastics and a bit of terminal gear  like breakaway mini links , fluorocarbon , a few hooks , jigheads , nail weights and cheb weights and unhooking gear
