bird 9,858
Yes I know this type post done few times, and Dave our mod, on knows the breed inside out, and I've Dave ridgeback bitch before cracking animal. The reason put this post on I seen a cracking male ridgeback Friday in Hereford when I was going to black hoss bank. This dog brill about 27 in, good 95lb, looked lot big bigger than my old dog Buck , he 28in but camped him when younger and fit about 87lb. My mate in brum did have a lurcher with ridgeback in it only about 1/4 in it, butvthatcwas good dog, do fox no prob. It deff give good wind ,good feet, power, OK bidable. Don't get wrong having had 3 pit x greys in the past, when we'll bred you got very good lurcher , a line bred 2nd gen 1x pit x grey are spot on for most things. But just thought that them ridgeback looked good animals, and there hound as well, and deff good guard for your property. Quote Link to post

Some are nice looking dogs but I don't understand why anyone would want to cross one with a greyhound mate when there's much better options out there? 2 Quote Link to post

I bet there’s lot of huntsmen said same about foxhound lurchers and shoot men about the gun dog lurchers . Sometimes it produces a decent animal sometimes it doesn’t .but until it’s tried we don’t know. Quote Link to post

Of course, if you put many dogs over a greyhound you may get some surprising results in a good way. Quote Link to post

I suppose it depended on what they wanted feet, nose , toughness ,bit of brain , most people were trying different breeds to come up with the next wonder cross some didn’t want to use a collie or a bedlington etc Quote Link to post
Borr 5,733
I fancied one at one point but the few I've met are aloof and seem less connected that other breeds , but some examples like Dave's most recent bitch certainly have an appealing stamp good feet and strong , but in a lurcher I'd go for proven bull x . But as been said plenty of other lurchers , some lads I the black country w-ton used breed pit x grey x deerhound x greys now there type did real well lamping. They took most stuff it they were slipped on.big dogs but balanced OK, the bulldog drop bit size down as well.nice steady dogs to be around a x I like, pity not more about to choose from. 1 Quote Link to post
