Wtf? Masculinity is supposed to be about not giving ground. Never quitting in a fight.  Tbh, thats bollox. Imo masculinity is sometimes about taking shit from foremen and employers even when you feel like throwing the dummy, out sticking one on some fecka, and walking out. But you persevere for your family.

I've fought like a good un against the odds, backed down when I know the odds are impossible and ran like f**k when I've had to. He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day. No shame in any of those actions.

I'm in a pub now and listening to blokes recounting stories of their fights to the death, knocking big fellas clean out and putting the boss in  his place. Everybody knows each other is talking  bollox  but are willing to nod their head until its their turn to talk bollox. What's it called? Social preening .Funny thing being a man. Maybe I'm just old. Or not pissed enough like the other blokes.

If I was sat in a pub listening to that depending how pissed or not I was I'd either join in or go somewhere else.Last thing I'd do is log in to THL.Very strange behaviour.

I'm bored, and I like to to think I'm a clever fly on the wall. It amuses me. People _watching and people_listening is a great hobby of mine. Do you want some? Think your hard like?

I never knew you cared. Thank you brother. I am merely observing that men talk crap. On one side of me I have pissed up geordies who are according to their own admission the hardest c**ts the world has ever produced. On my other side my Mrs talking endless shit about her whippet with other 'fur baby' owners.

So I'm feeling lonely and philosophical and  posting what I think are penetrative analyses of human behaviour and I'm having the piss ripped out of me.

f**k you all. Another pint of Shipyard Ale  please mate. Its my only friend.

Unless your companions in ale are visiting from the Newcastle area or are actually locals, please don’t refer to them as “Geordies”, they tend to get upset. They call themselves “ Northumbrians” !
A simple, but unforgivable faux pas for a stranger to make !

And of course I care ! It’s what us cantankerous old c**ts do; disagree with our peers but disagree even more with people who disagree with us !

f**k sake, I’m starting to sound like you now ! LOL !

Cheors! ( no not a spelling error, just my attempt at Northumbrian dialect ) !

I'll watch out for that "  Northumbrians". Not geordies or mackems. I've composed a poem.

Bollocks to the left of me

Bollocks to the right

I've never  heard such Nothumbrian/ Salfordian shite!

Unless you really hate me don't tell my Mrs I wrote that.

Masculinity has absolutely f**k all to do with fighting or “taking no shit”

Jmho, but masculinity is about being a good husband and father, allowing the ones you love to lay their burdens on your shoulders and never letting them know it’s a burden, it’s making sure your kids have grub in their belly and shoes on their feet, it’s about helping strangers in the street when everyone else “don’t want to get involved”, it’s being true to yourself in words and deed.

A proper man supports everything around him, not financially but that helps, but by being a proper chap in the way he conducts himself and how he treats others.

To me, that’s masculinity……any c**t can hit someone round the head with a bit of 4x2 but if he drinks all the kids dinner money and gos home and knocks his old woman about then he is not a man, he shouldn’t even be in the company of proper men.

One of the reasons I don't bother with pub's anymore unless it's for an occasion and a meal the older I get and more cantankerous and probably miserable I just want to spend time around people I want to be around. I was recently asked at work if I was going on a works do that management had put on to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary and was told that there was a live band on I replied well you know that live band you have more chance of seeing Elvis Presley getting up on stage with them than seeing me there. Lol
