MrsChamp606 553
After an average year with the birds in open mixed flight start of the week I noticed some feathers missing on my linnet cock and goldfinch cock put it down to them having a scrap anyway they both died in the last 48 hours both had massive feather loss around the eyes and half way up the heads?? any ideas? fireman 10,934
Is there any chance of vermin of any sort getting in as even a mouse may cause a bird to freak out and they both could have flown into or had their heads pushed into the wire, check to see if there's any feathers on the wire near a perch as such.Strange they both have died rather than one being killed by the other and that's bad luck indeed as they would have maybe done all the fighting bit during breeding season and not at the end of it...
