I hope that you enjoy it. 1st time that I read it was loaned to me my the man who sourced me my 1st proper terrier. I bought my own copy. I still pick it up now and again 40+ years later and still get happily lost in the pages.

Two quotes from that book that really hit home, "a dog understands justice" and "a dog must understand that he gets his work because of you, not inspite of you", not word for word but if you understand what he's saying you're half way to understanding dogs.

Some things are as true now as they were then. Some have changed forever. Lucas digging badger with the Bishop of Liverpool (I think it was the Bishop of Liverpool, haven't referenced the book to confirm), at Chequers on 11th November 19??. At 11:00, they downed tools for a moment silence in respect to falling comrades. Don't think we'll see that again. 

David Harcombe refers to it in World of the Working Terrier or Badger Digging with Terriers. Another two great books on working terriers.
