Pewit 970
I've always stated on here I am a hypocrite because I hate the killing of large apex predators but I know the conservation side of things is a complex matter. Hopefully they are doing things the right way to ensure a sustainable population. Edited August 23 by Pewit

I don't agree with what your shooting but I defend your right to do it. It's a balance, keeping field sportsmen, farmers and Joe Public happy. 4

If hunting can persevere habitat and keep a sustainable population then I suppose it's a net win. I'm not entirely a fan because I've read a study which suggests that trophy hunting has a negative impact on animal size, meaning that larger specimens are getting all the more scarce. On the other hand, trophy hunting creates livelihoods and ensures prey species continue to exist . Without trophy hunting lots of species would become extinct.

Probably so, as I said, without it we likely would lose a lot of natural habitat, a growing population would also see more conflict between apex predators, etc. I imagine it's pretty complex finding the right balance. Born Hunter 17,751
I work for a Swedish company and a lot of them are hunters, including the Group CEO. They’re a good bunch and it’s alien working for a company that has a bit of a hunting culture. I’d be all over that bear hunting!

I haven’t found the culture to be defined by country, more company. I’m also working under uk legal terms and conditions. But certainly within this group I prefer working for the Swedish team than the uk team. But that’s not so much national culture as it is team culture.

He says employers from that part of the world can't do enough for you. They've offered him freebies like private flights and to pay him in a dodgy roundabout way so the UK taxman doesn't get hold. He's refused on the grounds of the environment and ethics. He also says he knows I would kick his arse if I found out.lol They f**k you up your mum and dad They may not mean to but they do They give you all the faults they had And add some just for you.
