chartpolski 24,571
I’m not sure if this is a wind up, but I thought it was standard procedure to wash a dogs feet in warm salty water and clean the nail beds with an old toothbrush after a day or nights work ? Obviously not after every walk but you should still check them regularly. Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post

The drover 352
Imo some strains suffer with poor wicks . Running the leaf can also contribute to pushing them back . But in general the recently thawed mucks gonna reek havoc. Constant maintenance is obviously a must , but unless it's excessive you push on . Frozen times tend to give our charges healing down time . Season is short . I think that's what Mc is alluding to 1 Quote Link to post

It releases oil from the sebaceous glands into their coats, but also helps you check for little nicks, cuts, abrasions especially with rough coated dogs and can even help spot muscle soreness, etc. It all depends how seriously you take your sport. Spotting a problem early makes it easier to remedy it. Cheers. 5 Quote Link to post

We were hid for about 2 hours next to a river side. Dimirk lad a went with park motor up just over bridge an a bit of land. An we walked deep onto the fens walking all over on foot. We had a good Doo until we went round this farm land. Ended up coming off some black stuff onto this little road an a off duty copper drove up in a little sliver motor. Jumps out an says come Here. I or8 plonker in abit. Back on to the land dimirk mate. In the distance you could see all the filth in the 4x4s an dog van. We knew then it was game on. Was dog that tracked us down. This ginger haired f**k witt of a copper. Woman Was decent. A told dimirk to delete all his images off his phone. When we got pulled he only had images of loads of quarry. Lucky for me a took some images of all the right of ways public foot paths. Threw the slip back onto a clasped lead. No further action no letter through the post f**k all. Even though dimirk was already in court. The man's was on fire lol. I like to go alone. Only you can f**k yourself up then. That fella didn't have a clue. Walking on land with a apple phone to gps where we've been. I had a little burner phone just to call SOS if need be. Quote Link to post

My lads 15 now an he was only around 6 , 7 when a got him boxed off as a squeeker.. A don't know many coursing men that take there dogs lamping. You'll find that after lampin an quarry getting away on edge of land after beam goes off. You take that dog threw day an many will pull up at cover due to pulling up on lamp after losing quarry. That goes for any running dog its a known fact. 2 Quote Link to post

As for your statement about coursing dogs and lamping, that’s a bit of a sweeping assertion. The bitch I’ve got now and the two before did daytime coursing and hit cover no problem, and are back to heel as soon as the beam is switched off when lamping. Bruce the rescue dog was class at both daytime coursing and lamping . Cheers. 1 2 Quote Link to post
