Comments earlier in the thread regarding putting a running dog in a track race situation that is not schooled for reminds me of terrier racing. Different now I suppose but at a time when many terriers at a show were working terriers once the traps opened or dogs had been slipped it often quickly descend into a proper scrap and some short legged pet Russell type would end up the only one chasing the fox brush and become a terrier racing champion. Never understood it 🙂

I well remember when lurcher racing was working lurchers having a bit summer fun, hand slipped, no muzzles or racing colours.

Now the majority of racing lurchers have never seen a hare or rabbit, run out of traps, wearing muzzles and racing colours.

I could see it coming when a bloke told me some years ago that his racing “lurcher” was 1/16 th whippet, 15/16th greyhound !

Ive no problem with anyone working, showing or racing a lurcher, it’s their dog they can do what they want, but if I wanted to have a racing dog, I’d have a whippet or greyhound.
Cheers.

You'll get plenty running for them both over a 30 mile walk

if they turn out half as good as they look mate they will do just grand , your dogs are always well looked after can't ask for anymore than that

I've heard the stories and what not ( not as if the doggy men don't like to spin a tale or two is it ? true or false I always take anyone's word in the dog game with a pinch of salt  ) as I said don't know the man personally  just take people of face value his dogs are always in top nick and stop hares so can't fault him on that front.

good and bad in every breed I wouldn't crab any breed unless I laid my own eyes on it, the majority of the time it's the owners that can't bring a dog on properly and get the best out of it

the man that titles himself sir has jumped on the Lucas bred bandwagon lol , other man down that way that keeps himself to himself beginning with a T they all run round your way with that breed

aye just think bangers he done 7 still on license for 3 year and will slip broad daylight on any land i stopped at

then theres you daren't slip the dog incase you get community service lol

ffs there men then theres well lol
