Some of them coursing types with more saluki in them running local to you my money would have been on your dog mate even though i have never owned a legendary hare killing lurcher and only run the fens once i always kept a type that could catch local but saying that one of the best hare dog's i have had that came out of the beast to a lurcher to lurcher with whippet in the blood did well on some big land.

I'd fancy his chances on the first hare mate, I gave him plenty of long slips as well, never ran the fens but he caught local and North Yorks, Lincolnshire, etc.

I’m the same mate I only run him by myself and don’t even know a man with a coursing bred and he’s  just a knock about beddy grey to lurcher and I’d love to see how far behind he’d be against a supestar cos he knocks plenty over locally (quite far behind probably) I’ve never seen a real coursing bred run in the flesh.

As I said mate, I've seen saluki cross lurchers run, even ran against them and he was always better on hares, he was a decent sized dog 26-27 inch, could cover some ground.

i’ve never run a pure mate but you get the right one it will kill for fun and go longer and be stronger then out you could lay your hands on

there’s different lines with different styles and dogs with them as you know i’d say the bulldozer for instance is more like a saluki not as classy to watch as some but an out and out killer

But would be be the same killer on small/medium fields or would he end up losing plenty?

I don't know mate only seen a few videos of the dog. Let's be honest it's hard to guage a dog off video because for the most part you're only seeing the dog at it's best, usually when it catches. It would be good to walk out with a dog like that and compare it to a good 3/4 cross.

Mate I've seen some of these super coursing dogs on videos failing to catch the hare FFS, obviously you can't catch them all but I bet a good 3/4 cross would be a match for a coursing bred for one or two runs. A couple of years ago when I nearly got one I had folk messaging me sending vids and I think I only saw one dog make a kill. You've gotta admit a lot of smoke is blown up the arses of these dogs. Lol

i can’t comment on them mate don’t which vids you watched lol

a good 3/4 may stop some early season off time out but that isn’t what you aim for you want to be out a few times a week stopping them only blanking one or 2 times all season from  october to feb having a dog that can do that is the aim no 3/4 grey or collie cross could live with bulldozer at that none mate

smoke gets blown but the good ones are just that mate
