Guest thunderbelly
A non-resident's licence to hunt fox, game birds, rabbits and hares, wolf, coyote and black and grey squirrels costs $87.50 To get this licence you must show a hunting licence issued to you by a competent authority in any jurisdiction as resident of that jurisdiction after january 01 1968 or a certificate issued to you after January 01, 1968 by a competent authority in any jurisdiction, giving you permission to purchase a hunting licence in that jurisdiction. go to this link to see maps of Ontario http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/pubs/hunting/...05_maps_eng.pdf I live in 87E and hunt regularly in 87D and 90A 90B areas Toronto is in 67 that is a city there is no hunting there ( I think there should be but that's another story) It takes about an hour to get to my house from Toronto traveling at 140 km/hr or there abouts ( if there are no cops around). Rabbit season is untill the end of February coyote and fox is all year Before visiting Toronto go to this web site http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.OnlineShopping this store is almost in Toronto just a little north of the city, prices are a little high but the selection is amazing TAKE A CAMERA there are many stuffed animals mounted in the store and a plane hanging from the ceiling. This store is in a mall so anyone who doesn't hunt can drop you off and shop all day. If there is ice on the lakes when you come it is possible to do some icefishing. Any questions
Lennard 10
In the future I might be living in NH and have a US non-resident small game licence...Canada is close from NH/VT... If I go to Canada as a foreigner...do you know what would be my options? L
Guest thunderbelly
those are your options at this time of year, you can hunt black bear moose and deer but those seasons just closed. It's pricey to hunt the big game Bear=$175 Moose=$350 deer=$175. If you come in the spring then Turkey hunting is an option $87.50+$22 New hampshire and Vermont are in USA Vermont is on the Quebec border. All the rules I have posted are for Ontario. Reconsider the New Hampshire thing, they are shoveling snow right now and I have to go cut my grass again.
Lennard 10
Thanks Thunderbelly Oh yeah...VT borders Quebec...the rules will be different there. My near future wife lives in NH and I am moving there early spring, other states are not an option but maybe I can persuade her to move to jackrabbit country. I might consider shooting a deer for the fridge but what REALLY makes me tick is catching hares/rabbits with dogs. L
jock meikle 2
hi [bANNED TEXT],coming to toronto next year was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for good shops that sell fishing and shooting gear, mostly pike lures and suchlike thanks for your help
Guest thunderbelly
Jock the biggest shop is basspro shops that's the one link in my original post, they are a huge American chain with everything you can think of (boats to lures, socks to airplanes) and some things you will never have thought of. Pricey but convenient, it's in a mall so the wife can leave you there and shop all day. Honestly check out the link. Then for serious stuff check out Lebaron's outdoors it's almost as good with reasonable prices (this is where I would go in Toronto area). If you want some fishing and can afford the time off fish the Niagra river for Muskie (giant pike). You can book a charter with many excelent guides. What timme of year you planning on coming over Jock? Lennard click the link at the bottom of my posts and introduce your self on the forums there are some VERY smart guys/gals there in the vermont area (you'll have more rabbit chasing info then you need)
jock meikle 2
thanks for the info [bANNED TEXT],im coming over in the middle of june but dont think ill get any fishing done because itll be my honeymoon, but those muskies sound good ive read a bit about them and they are something id like to have a go at,ill have a look at lebarons it might save me a trip to vaughn, how far is it away from toronto, thanks again for the info
Guest thunderbelly
Vaughn from Toronto? you won't even know you left Toronto it looks like one giant city. Even the Toronto international airport isn't in Toronto but it's close to Vaughn. If you're honeymooning you should go to Niagra Falls and since you're in Niagra Falls you should go see the Falls and since the Falls are a part of the Niagra River you may as well get a close up view on a boat and what harm would it do dragging a lure behind the boat for a while, after all you won't be back the week after to try again will you. Guest thunderbelly
I forgot Turkey season should be open that time of year
jock meikle 2
its not that easy [bANNED TEXT],she would go mental and i cant swim i suppose a sneaky handline might work, but handlining for muskies i dont think so thats a little to extreme for me lol,ill be happy if i get to the shops had a look at the bass pro site and it looks some shop i cant wait ill be like a kid in a sweet shop. Guest thunderbelly
Niagra Falls is the honeymoon capital!! Watch that bass pro shops place, The mall it's in is pretty big with lots of places for your wife to spend your money. The Niagra river isn't too bad (I've swam in it many times) but handlining is not my first choice for muskie, So I can assume you don't want to hear about all the salmon in the Niagra river either and to mention the smalmouth and largemouth bass would be useless as well. HELL man why you going to honeymoon in such a nice area if you're not going to see anything but concrete? You probably ain't bringing your dog either are you! Probably better off with out it as our foxes are well fed and rather large and the coyotes would just be too much for the dog. :11: :11: :11:
jock meikle 2
now all your saying makes me want to come over and just fish and hunt, you never no i might just loose her for the day,the fishing sounds good [bANNED TEXT] if it was anyother reason i was over it would be different ,but id never be able to forget it she would remind me everyday with a slap, mik by the way your not helping me make up my mind either,pm me about that dog [bANNED TEXT] ive got some news for you
Guest thunderbelly
I'd try hard to make sure you never forget it, The sound of a Gobbler (male turkey) sounding off 40 yards from you will stick with you forever. The sunburn from fishing all afternnon won't last as long though. Fiberglass mounts of the biggest F@%N muskie you've ever seen will last forever. Eventually she will talk to you again . It's a shame I can't arrange a musk ox hunt when you're here 'cause in Bass Pro there is a herd of musk ox stuffed and mounted on one of the shelves, I think they're being harrased by some wolves as well. I'm pretty sure a Turkey hunt would be possible, a day fishing would be possible but sounds like you're not interested :11: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.CFP...storeID=11#6203 scroll to the bottom of this page to see some pics there are some good pics of whitetail deer on there, got a Lurcher????? Bribe her with some Canadian BBQ I may be able to cook a pork shoulder one of the days your in Canada.
jock meikle 2
[bANNED TEXT] your not making this easy,a days fishing would be great and turkey hunting sounds good to,but a scottish women with red hair and an attitude i dont think theirs a gun or dog that would be able to stop her doing me some damage :11: ,but ill work on her through the year and im sure ill get a day fishing just in case have you any spare kennels i just might need somewhere to stay :11: ,thanks again for all the info all the best
