I was fuming reading the headlines, but if you delve deeper they confirm this won't include rapists, paedophiles, knife attackers, etc, it also doesn't include violent rioters, they had to get that in.

GB News reporting a chap 6 months into his sentence of involvement in a machete killing being released. 

New laws for extreme misogyny being classed as terrorism considered by Labour as well. Unfortunately nobody can define "extreme misogyny" within the government so another "grey" law.

The UK jails more people than is necessary. Many countries have better systems. Non dangerous prisoners should serve  shorter sentences. There needs to be weekend prisons and proper training  whilst inside so prisoners can get  jobs and accommodation when they come out. Addicts need proper treatment and the prison service need to stop the supply of drugs in the nick.

In the UK lots of people are in jail for petty reasons. And some evil, dangerous people are not imprisoned for long enough. A life sentence can mean as little as twelve years. There should be no early release for serious offenders whatsoever.

Notice they never talk about building new prisons unlike hospitals , supose it would be hard to find staff to run them , it must be up there with the worst jobs in the uk been a prison warden

I think our reoffending rate is one of the worst in Europe.

The Nordic country’s have a way better outcome and their system is totally different.

Maybe it’s the system, maybe it’s cultural ?

I personally think we have to conclude it’s cultural in the U.K., they have thrown so much money at communities more pre disposed to crime and it has only got worse…..it’s just a culture of debauched behaviour and zero care about anything…..it’s literally the 3rd world and the gin alleys of the 18th century all rolled into one.

I think we have to accept that an amount of people will always be “at it” and crime is very much their job, but some of the heinous stuff we see today that is just standard behaviour in some areas isn’t that imho……it’s predatory, it lacks any sense of morality or basic human conscience, it’s wild beasts feeding off each other and those unfortunate enough to come into contact with them.

I don’t think you can teach those type of people anything, you could lock them up for a million years, you could drag them into class rooms every day, you could provide help and support…..and as soon as free again they would still go and break into someone house 4 handed in the middle of the night and torture a 5 year old until you hand over the car keys and the telly.

Our cultural and moral bar has been set so low nowadays that I just don’t know what you would be re-educating people to do and how to act ?…….how can you teach people not to be and animal when being an animal is the default social setting ?…..what’s in for them ?

Must be a fekin nightmare of a job mate. I honestly think it's madness jailing these rioters it's not as though they're carreer criminals with violent and involved with organised crime gangs and pose no risks to the general public same as jailing folk for non payment of fines that some of the coursing lads have been landed with extortionate fines and costs.

Another lass from the next village to be was given 9 months prison a few months ago. She is married to a kid who I would call a distant pal, a well known kid in the village. She was a lead prison warden/manager and she was shagging a con from Sheffield, not just that, she was threatening and bullying other cons and prison wardens about the consequences if any spoke out, a real piece of work she is. There's rumours she purposely got up the duff to try and escape prison, little trollop.

There you go, how do you “educate” a grown adult, obviously with an amount of academic qualifications, out of a mindset like that ?…….this type of thinking is I would think more common than we care to believe in modern Britain.

You can’t fix the prison system until you fix the culture you will be releasing people back into.

She clearly has the morals of a tom cat and exploited her authority. The man who she cheated on is a better man than me. She has an older daughter to someone she met before him and he's still treating her like his own and he even helped the trollop out after she did all this to him. I think it's madness that female prison wardens are allowed to work in male prisons.

I saw a TV show on that. They treat the prisoners with respect and they are housed well. It's hard for people to think these offenders deserve this but if you treat people like shit that's what they will stay like and just keep reoffending.
