Man U woes. During Amorim's last press conference a reporter had to move seats because the roof had sprung a leak.

Later on in the week the ground's hygiene rating was lowered because mouse shit had been discovered inside the building.

Both events are grimly symbolic of the decay at Man U over the last two decades.

Nearly every talented kid chooses to train at Man City instead of Utd. Including kids, now high fliers, Phil Foden and Coleman at Chelsea.

An old school mate has two close relatives employed at Man U. He says the atmosphere inside the club is deadly. There's been so many redundancies of 'little' people But we continue to buy players at top prices, award long contracts at inflated wage rates and when they turn out to be duds cannot get rid of them.

All empires fizzle out, but how could the owners and top management have been so incompetent and complacent?

Amorim has an almighty task ahead of him.

Woe is me.

Feel free to enjoy my misery. Lol

As much as it is a changing of the old guard , I think city’s spin of the wheel is coming close to a stop . Those ffp charges aren’t going away , I think theyre pulling strings for a massive fine . And things aren’t going there way . I’ve read in numerous forums that some of the city staff hierarchy are aware of what’s coming and hence the dip . Pepe will be on his bike if what’s true what’s being said . relegation , stripping of honours etc .

I just wouldn’t have it in me to point my son at city , I don’t believe the academy is actually all that in reality . For every Cole palmer you get a RICO Lewis , he won’t be there next year , he needs punted . I’ve genuinely seen better in non league , he’s a busy idiot and has almost zero footballing intelligence . I watched walker intently also overvthe summer and he looked dead on his legs then . He’s never been a great player and has been found out in spectacular fashion . What players like kdb think staring off the bench at that dude is anyone’s guess .

I wouldn’t read too much into the stadium Rot nonsense. I don’t know if you’ve ever been about but the San Siro isn’t exactly a cathedral and the three times I’ve been nou camp , the upper seats are littered with dead pigeons etc .
they seem to manage okay . The idea you need a stadium like the emirates or three point lane is a misery myth perpetuated by the consumer not the supporter.

Brass tacks are that Man Utd are not that far away from a relegation battle at minute , that’s right imho and their run in is awful . But this is Man Utd , no one will let that club go down or continue this slide . Someone will buy them , or heavily invest , alongside sjr. They are the biggest brand in world football still imho . It may take a while , it may take a decade more from now . The cracks aren’t chasms yet .

I’ve said it before and said it again . You had a player who was genuinely on the cusp of world class , if not he was 65 / 70 mill transfer , and the club bowed and broke to media pressure . Now he’s say playing happy families with the bird he allegedly raped . How much has that cost the club ? At least 50 goals imho

rashford should have been away after the euro penalty Miss . He’s never got over it .

Terrific post mate. The bird was his partner and now mother of his kid. It was just virtue signalling by Man U.

Tbh, looking forward to the shit hitting the fan at Maine road.

There's a lot of lawyers with big headaches trying to do backroom deals and buy people off with regard to the financial fair play rules. Be interesting to see how far they can slither out of it or spin the outcome.

I don’t have the interest the likes of you , , wilf , newkid , lanesra, etc have in the prem , I literally haven’t got a dog in the fight .

but what I can say is that I have no bias towards or against any club , I can swap my team do to speak at the drop of the hat , at minute , I like watching Villa , forest and gos forbid , Liverpool .

But I will always watch United though , they are the best to watch purely as you genuinely have no idea who is gonna turn up .

but one thing you have to remember , regardless how baffling, humourous or infuriating the recent seasons have been . In the words of the song , “Man United will never die “

they are purely too big to be there for much longer . The change will come .

I'm quite relaxed about our present position. I'm 75 now and was born less than a mile from the ground. I remember the bad times like Munich and relegation as though they were yesterday. But also the good times like the first and subsequent European cups. The Fergie era was unbelievable and lots of fans thought we had a divine right to win everything. Not so. We were also in the wilderness for years after Busby retired. It's just part of football.

I'm irritated about how standards have slipped though. f****n Rashford and Garnacho need a shake. They haven't enough pride about themselves or the shirt. Sloppy mismanagement  starting at the top.

I'm a big believer in managers possessing  an aura of unchallengeable authority. Jock Stein and Fergie had that aura, look what they achieved.

We shall arise stronger if not in my lifetime then in my grandsons.

Manchester United just are……City will never have that pedigree

I agree with stiff, I wouldn’t point a son of mine at city either…..going to sound a bit biased but if you had a talented kid you’d be wanting to put them in the likes of West Ham or Brentford….someone like that, somewhere they have a genuine chance of first team football, you won’t get that at City.

You won’t see a Mark Noble or a Paul Scholes or a Steven Gerrard in this modern incarnation of Manchester City….ever !…..they are f***ing shirt models of a club.

For the Manchester clubs, United once again beat City hands down for youth pedigree…..even in this 14 year lifespan of Manchester City, a kid has more chance of getting a shot at United than they ever will at city.

Liverpool also beat city hands down on this score.

Guardiola has revealed his Achilles heel and its youth development…..he can buy players and get them playing in his way but (as is clearly being seen) they all end up 30 plus and there’s f**k all players left to buy and your f****d……Real Madrid bought them all !

Point of proof……Cole Palmer !……who the f**k let’s Cole Palmer go ?
Even Foden has that look that says “what the f**k am I doing here ?”

Guardiola wants to paint pictures on the pavement, not plant trees like Ferguson did……but pavement pictures eventually wash away in the rain and you have to move on and paint another somewhere else.

Pedigree and history come from planting trees !

No matter how big a club is no matter how much there owners are worth football has proven every great team has a shelf life it comes to an end at some point enjoy it while it lasts

When Man U were relegated 74/75. We enjoyed a great season in the second division. I remember some great away days and great camaraderie. Football is football, whether it's international, Champions league or bottom of division 2.

Despite its faults I love the EPL. It's never been an even playing field, but no professional sport is, money talks. Blackburn Rovers, won the league then plummeted. Newcastle game close and have been relegated twice since those days. Leicester City won the league and are now a boomerang club. Why? Money or rather lack of it? Yes. But this is the thing that I find fascinating:

Man United. The great Man United. Fallen from grace in recent years but not through lack of funds.

Man City. In trouble at present. Not because of lack of money.

So many variables, money only being 1 of them. The players and the manager being 2 of the variables and how delicate a balance that is. Winning games still comes down to how 11 men perform against another 11 men on the day and the fluctuation of success just goes to show that despite it being a multi-billion pound industry it is not an exact science, just football.

You are right. I've just turned my telly off. Man U lacklustre , confused incompetent. Newcastle spirited, running like their lives depended on it and ruthless. Fairplay. But I've seen enough for tonight.

It’s only half time so I’m not counting chickens yet, but Newcastle could be four or five up !

A team playing for their manager, themselves and the fans .

Cheers.

Yup, no complaints

And an Englishman. One of only two in the premier league.

See Wayne Rooney is back on the dole. Suspect it’s as much about his play off-field as much as the results on the park.

The man is barely literate by all accounts . How he passed his coaching exams is a mystery really .

he needs to have a minute , relax and find his way as pundit . He’s very intuitive as that , he’s no manager clearly .

He looks like he's hitting the booze. Man U would give him a job coaching at some level. He's lives in an incredible mansion in the North. What would possess him to live in a hotel in Plymouth when his wife and kids are based in the North? I hope he doesn't end up another Best or Gazza.
