I've never rated him as a top player.

eastcoast 4,216 Posted Saturday at 18:39 Report Share Posted Saturday at 18:39 Mad behaviour by Canha, Bournemouth v Wolves. Usually such a reaction comes from something very personal said.

Surely that speaks volumes

eastcoast 4,216 Posted Sunday at 17:46 Report Share Posted Sunday at 17:46 Good luck to Brighton progressing further in the FA Cup. Kick in the stones to see Minteh getting the so important equaliser. A young lad scouted and signed by Newcastle. Then nutured until ready for the English top flight, only to be forced into selling him.
chartpolski 24,774 Posted Sunday at 18:12 Report Share Posted Sunday at 18:12 I thought Newcastle were second best. Big blow to lose Gordon for the Final, it’s pointless appealing it as var and the ref were in agreement. Cheers.
eastcoast 4,216 Posted Sunday at 18:47 Report Share Posted Sunday at 18:47 Stupid by Gordon but caused by the refs earlier calls. The Brighton kid who got a 2nd yellow should have been given it in 1st half. Refs are keeping cards in their pockets depending on their earlier calls in the game. The pundits love it as they don't want to see reds. That confuses and frustrates the players. Are we playing to the rules or not? What is the ref going to allow? His job is to see it and call it according to the rules of the game, but they are not doing that.

pesky1972 5,361 Posted Monday at 05:25 Report Share Posted Monday at 05:25 Hibs bested Hearts in the Edinburgh derby Sunday. Not my team but I love when their fans sing Sunshine on Leith when they’ve got something to celebrate…, which isn’t often. https://x.com/grahamspiers/status/1896339730683539638?s=46&t=VY4brBw2Zl3y1kklDlkEFg

His job is to see it and call it according to the rules of the game, but they are not doing that. I have to say, I completely disagree…..I think keeping their cards in their pocket is to be encouraged. I always start to wobble if you see early cards, wondering if a ref is going to ruin a game by then going absolute letter of the law and throwing cards about all over the show…..let’s not forget if you are going absolute letter of the law then these are decisions that rest on micro seconds and millimetres……and I think in a physical game you just can’t work it in a mechanical way like that, you have to have a bit of sense and a bit of judgement. It’s why VAR is so shite, tackles that are in reality just a word or a booking are now becoming bookings and red cards when slowed down to thousandths of a second……players have been getting up and playing on for a 100 years from these challenges but now it’s red ? Nah I seen a red card the other week, can’t remember which game, a perfectly buck shee holding mid field challenge that is the bread and butter of any No.6 in the world and slowed down he got the ball clean in the initial contact but his momentum rolls his foot over the top of the ball and he catches the opposing player (wearing these stupid non existent shin pads that the league seem perfectly happy to let players ware ??) above the ankle…..player was down for a minute, then bit of treatment and up again ??……never a red, in a million years ! But today it is ! Refs throwing cards about for every little thing will at best ruin a game and at worst make a game go very wrong and descend into chaos…….. Id personally like to seem them take a bit more action about players waring proper shin pads…..if it’s about protecting players, start there.
