Football season 24/25

Im quite happy with Potter i think he's a good fit for the direction we should be going in.....Floppy was a disastrous appointment from day 1 he was brought in to supposedly take us to the next level after Moyse brought 3 years of European football, high placed league finishes and stability to the club.....but all we've had is shit side to side football with no end product averaging barely a goal a game and a lower win rate than Avram Grant ffs.....ok he was undone by players with a low work rate, defensive errors ( mainly the Greek ) and poor finishing....but he's still just a Spanish version of Moyse but with no plan B

Potter is a young innovative English manager, personally i can never get fully behind foreign coaches it just seems morally wrong to me ( except Super Slav of course )......i remember watching Swansea when he was there going toe to toe with Citeh they played some good lively stuff, same with Brighton he made them relative in the Premier League.

We're not a big club with oil money we cant compete in buying the globally recognised names that the money bags clubs can so i think he'll try to bring through young players instead of spending out on average foreigners....particularly keeping in mind we have one of the best youth squads in the country, they battered Arsenal 5 - 1 last year to win the Fa Youth Cup so theres talent there.....ok them young players will end up being poached by other clubs but if you are good at discovering and developing young talent like we used to be for every player you sell theres more coming through......and in a world of billionaire owners with bottomless pockets it might be the only way for a club outside the 10 odd richest to actually prosper.

I think theres a glimmer of hope with Potter we'll see how it go's.

I think potter is a good appointment for West ham his style of playing is something I think the fans will get behind win or lose especially if he plays a few young home grown players which he as shown in the past he doesn't mind doing which I dont think previous managers have done enough off at westham the loss of Bowen and Antonio is a big loss but hopefully Sullivan backs him this month I can see Chelsea getting raided for a few loans this month he did come across well in his first interview talking about what will be needed and in engaging with  the fans im sure there will be some rocky moments for him but at least the fans are realistic in there expectations I wish him well nice to see another english manager back in the prem

We've got some good young kids coming through George Earthy,Kaelan Casey,Callum Marshall, the kid Briggs i forget his first name this young squad is the best youth squad we've had since the Cole,Ferdinand,Carrick etc days it would be a shame to see them all get loaned out because the manager is too scared to throw them in and as you say it is something Potter has done before so hopefully we can start getting a bit of our old identity back now we've accepted we're not going to be pressing for trophies as we hoped we would !

23 years old this picture, the lad with the cap in the other photo is the lad gripping the bottle of champagne like grim death in this photo !

Our midfielders old man was a last minute stand in goalkeeper that day, got a roll up hanging out his mouth ! Lol

He got an award that year for being 25 years in that league !
In that photo there are lads who had been youth at West Ham, Arsenal & Tottenham.

We all still remain friends…..just cost a bit of effort, football is great that way.

Looks like Jonjo Shelvey has parted company with his Turkish club. A strange lad. Blessed with enough natural born talent to play at the top level, when he could be bothered. Days when he could not be bothered you were playing with 10 men.

Wouldn’t say he was that good mate , he had a chance at Liverpool in that awkward time before klopp and was found wanting .

I thought he’d retired long time ago to be honest , surprised to read he’s only 32

Wilf that goalie with the roll up made me spit my tea out. That photograph captures more than a football celebration. There's a lot going on there. I'm not going to comment on it further or I'll read like the prick I've just read in the paper, who wrote  that Man U's improvement is due to McGuire's thriving in " a back 3 pivot in a double base layer" Wtf? Sounds like a guitarist to me.

I thought he'd dropped a few lazy b*****ds, introduced a better work ethic and told a few players what he wanted from them. Like when  Brian Clough said to John  Robertson" yer an ugly little b*****d, but you can cross a ball. So run up and down that wing and cross the ball. Nothing f****n else". It worked very well.

Dagenham v Milllwall. Not for the faint hearted supporter. Lol

John Docherty who sadly died last month was the only Millwall manager ever to get them into top flight football, which was the then old First Division....my old mucker Terry Hurlock who was the hard man player of his day was playing for them he said Johns team talk was basically " right you Hurlock, get the ball and give it to someone with the same colour shirt on,thats it " .....which i always thought was a bit harsh as Terry could play a bit in fairness.
