Yes I read somewhere you have made more money than any other club in Europe in player sales this century but it was the length of some of the contracts given that I found surprising

jukel123 8,016
Man U have completed yet another bizarre money losing transfer. Wan Bissaka cost us 50 million 5 years back and we've sold him for 15 million. He's still young and probably the best one on one defender in the Premier league. ( Many have described him as that. It's nigh on impossible to get past him.) Apparently he struggles to combine defensive duties with also being an offensive threat. Which is fair comment. But we knew that 5 years back. How has he lost 35 million in value?. FFP has dictated we get rid of players to balance the books. Trust me, the Hammers have got the bargain of the transfer window so far.

I’m a bit conflicted with FFP, or whatever it’s called now. Of course I’m massively biased in one respect, if it was a free for all, Newcastle could buy anyone the wanted and I could see the worlds best players at St James’ Park , but would I be happy at basically “buying” the league ? Probably not. Then again, I worry that if Premier teams are restricted on what they can spend, will it’s standing in world football be degraded ? Will it cease to be attractive to the worlds best players? And what if the top , ( richest ) teams in the Premier decide if they can’t spent their money on what they want, they decide to try for a “European Super League “ again , and succeed ? That would , in my mind, ruin the Premier League ! I don’t know the answers , but I think it can’t go on as it is . Cheers.

Blackmag 6,089
When your on a big losing streak manager less and can't score in countless games then you are gifted Sunderland in a cup game yet the deluded after one game beating a poor Cardiff team are dreaming of a prem return

But, speaking as a football fan and not as a Man U supporter, City has provided some top, top entertainment and upped the bar for every team in the Premier league. The premier league has been sensational for football fans worldwide. FFP rules will undoubtedly dumb down the entertainment on view. That will lose the Premier league big boys money. So, clubs will look at ways to to skirt FFP restrictions. God forbid it would lead to a "European Super League". That would be the death knell of the whole English football structure. A nightmare scenario. Man City have their hearing in September. It's going to be interesting.

Like a nice car, it’s nice for a while but then it’s as boring as every other car. I wonder if people will look back with the same fondness on this city team like they do the swashbuckling Manchester United of the golden Fergie years, or Wengers Invincible's or even your very own Newcastle with Ginola etc etc back in the day ?……even today, in Europe Real Madrid would be way better to watch than city imho…..to be fair, for me, Brentford would be more entertaining. There’s just f**k all soul in City, we all know what it is, and yes it’s great to watch Foden and Silva and Harland but it still will never, ever be Manchester United or Arsenal…..it won’t even be Newcastle or even my own little Hammers. They can buy everything but they can’t buy that.

I’m sure they will take solace in signing arguably one of the worlds best defenders , who is renowned for his organisational skills and leadership from the back in return mate . a no brainer really

When Man U buy players the price super inflates because it's moneybags Utd with the cheque book. Similarly, we sell players at huge losses and FFP has exaggerated this trend. The new management team was brought in to to bring an end to this self destructive tendency. Ratcliffe has stated several times that basically Man U is not Santa anymore. So I am very disappointed to see Wan Bissaka to leave at that price. Ten Haag has now assembled Ajax old boys: Onana, Martinez, De Ligt,Mazroui and Anthony. Can you recreate a successful Eridivise team and expect it to be as good or better in the Premier league? Obviously I hope so. But I'm not sure that's the way forward. The Dutch league is nowhere need the standard of the Premier league, the Bundesliga, La Liga and several others. But here's hoping ....
