Listening to radio 4 news earlier.  A guest speaker, whose name I missed, had carried out a report which focussed on which groups in society were most left behind. Their study revealed it was white working class children who were doing poorest in school and whose job and life prospects were the most dismal.

I used to visit Leith a lot.  For Scotland it's quite a mixed race area. Leith has a lot of high end housing from which yuppies would commute. Alongside those people are the addicts, alcoholics, street hustlers etc. All of them were white  native Scots. Its the same story across the country. Even people in work feel outcasts and are locked out of all the goodies a rich country has to offer. That's where a lot of resentment lies, and which, imo, is behind the riots.

I had to turn radio four off when a politician (I believe) was saying that the NHS was the perfect example of the benefits of multiculturalism , none of them are willing to say stop. Infrastructure can't cope, education and health can't cope, social services can't cope the population living in austerity for a decade , it's madness. They can create a special department to arrest angry people but still the boats come.

We wouldn't need so many immigrants to work in the nhs if there weren't so many immigrants using it.  Not rocket science.

Well even if we trained more staff , tied them into contracts so they didn't bug off abroad as soon as qualified , and gave better hours and pay to the decent ones.Also preventing free healthcare until you've been paying into the system for x amount of time , It's been decades in the making . I don't see us doing without migration, but at some point you have to ask if we're investing in the right parts...

Training staff? Investing money in state of the art technology? Nah, that's not the british way. Cheap labour is cheaper. And has been since victorian times.

The government did no such thing, they were entitled to come here as members of the empire under what (we now know) was an extremely short sighted act of Parliament.

Theres was an unemployment problem in the West Indies and the Windrush had seats to fill for a return journey and so filled the boat cut price with job seekers looking for work. 
 

This fallacy that they were the “great saviours” of Britain is total and utter f***ing nonsense…..don’t feel like you’ve been saved now does it.
