For balance Tommy Robinson Latest Message - Exposing P*liticians & Media Lies?! (youtube.com) I think it's plain to see if you want someone right of centre to survive parliament, they have to be whiter than white and distance themselves from those who have risked it all but won't ever sit in parliament whilst it runs as it does. He has to without question be palatable to the masses if we're to get anywhere by democratic or diplomatic means...
Borr 5,995
Also if farage threw his support behind Tommy Robinson it wouldn't help Tommy one bit and would end farage and his ability to reform the conservatives and possible increase seat numbers etc. it's a game and he knows how to play it, they've been laughing him off as a nuisance for 20 years , he's now a seasoned mep, now an MP and he's holding on by his finger tips would be my guess.

I get that but surely he was better off not even mentioning TR especially as he's done exactly what he's complaining is happening to him? Personally think he's dropped a bollock there especially as almost everyone who attended the march on the 27th of July who were asked who they voted for said Reform.

I agree with both you and Borr ,he'd have been better keeping Tommy's name out his mouth given that much of his support has varying levels of support for Tommy also ..definitely an own goal imho

If he doesn't publicly distance himself from tr he won't escape the barrage of ammunition it will give the rest of the house.

It's definitely I tightrope for Farage to walk,he has to be careful that he's not made to capitulate to the point he isn't distinguishable from the rest of Parliament.
riohog 5,701
1 hour ago, WILF said: The government did no such thing, they were entitled to come here as members of the empire under what (we now know) was an extremely short sighted act of Parliament. Theres was an unemployment problem in the West Indies and the Windrush had seats to fill for a return journey and so filled the boat cut price with job seekers looking for work. This fallacy that they were the “great saviours” of Britain is total and utter f***ing nonsense…..don’t feel like you’ve been saved now does it. not to forget there in for a nice few bob ,just to keep them quiet!!!

Considering most Reform voters probably support TR or sympathise with his views I think it was a bit of a mistake.

Pewit 970
I've said this all along, the millions of immigrants, many born here, are here to stay. Things can't continue like this, we need to find sensible and realistic measures. Razing the country down to the ground isn't going to help matters or change things. For me it's all about culture change and integration, we are generally known as a moderate country, but we are pandering to people who can often have extreme ideologies.

If he came close to saying what we are actually thinking (possibly him as well) reform would be finished before it even started. He's got to make the right noises without leaving himself wide open to charges of racism etc. I actually think he's doing not too bad.. Politics in the British establishment is a sordid seedy business. Most of reform voters, myself included would have a lifetime ban right after their maiden speech.
