Being British is about being able to have a long serious conversation with yourself under two different alias’s without feeling a total walloper you total walloper

It's a broad question ,and I don't think there is a definitive answer . To dwell in these isles would be a start ,for how many generations would get many different answers  To buy into the G

This is where the water gets muddy, “English” is not as far as I’m aware an ethnic group, same as welsh, Irish, Scots etc…..those classifications are only about a thousand years old and, for want of a

He's a fast cnut, I know that.

A lad I used to work with, and trained a few times with, used to live next door to him as a youngster.  Him and a couple of his mates called jackson a black cnut, one time, he said he caught up with them in about 3 or 4 seconds, and spoke to them quite harshly!!  🤭

When we were growing up every class had an odd Joe raki in it. Those kids wanted to be like us, they dressed like us, they spoke like us. At primary school they even joined in the hymns at assembly. Now if you look at those same schools in places like Bolton, their is probably 1-2 white kids in each class. A lot of those paki kids will have parents that went to school with us....only the kids and grandkids of those originals no longer want to be like us. They speak with paki accents, they speak in foreign languages and they don't want to be like us anymore. Drive through Bolton now can the kids are all dressed in Muslim clothes.....these 2nd and 3rd generation kids are reverting to their own kind and their own ways.

Personally I don't think it's about how long or how many generations they have been here. Shamima bagum was born here remember but apparently she's no longer British.

A change will come. Some people will be caught on the wrong side of the line. There will be hurt and unfairness. Some people who are black as the ace of spades will be classed as British. Some who have been here generations would be more at home in Nigeria or Mecca

Likewise, one Chinese girl from Hong Kong whose parents had a restaurant, the only ethnic kid in a comprehensive of over 2000 kids,I had never seen a genuine live black person till I left school and went to London. Now Sunderland markets itself as a City of Sanctuary and has thousands of refugees.

Ok, I get it, that's your opinion. I shall respect that and shut up like a good boy. Lol

Colin Jackson, Welsh?

In my opinion yes, when he won the World Championship the 1st flag he grabbed was the Welsh Dragon, so yes as far as i'm concerned he's Welsh!!!

So you agree with me, it's more to do with your culture & values above anything else? Of course you can never be genetically British, whatever that means, because there's no such thing, the further you go back the further we see mixture.

How do these DNA tests work ? They tell you that you are certain percentage British, Scandinavian, Iberian, etc.

Are they a con ?

Cheers.

They are a con in the fact that they are limited. They are of good use say if you want to find a lost relative. But they don't really tell us the whole picture about your true genetic ancestry.

And they are set up by the government to catch criminals, which worked a treat when it first came about.
