eastcoast 4,115
4 me two contradictory things, the British Isles, an archipelago in the North West Atlantic or some tiny Islands that created the modern world. We'll leave the Irish out of it. Probably best. Britain is, and always was, a some of it's parts. The question now being what are those parts? I remember how scared the British media were before we took part in a World Cup final in Japan (football, and it was the men's football for clarity, no offence intended to rugby fans or women) , not that long ago. All these English, working class scum who were going to embarrass the nation. The Japs? They f***ing loved us. They still had in their culture and education that the British, the English, have not lost a war or been invaded for a 1000 years. And that made me think why that was. How come we are so unique? Well, the English Channel/North Sea for one. But, not so impregnable now, still easily defended but we choose not to. But, everyone wanted to come here throughout history, and I do not know why, and every invading army came here, staked their claim, shot their muck, and made their stamp. And Britain/England was formed from daft lads who fought to live here and so created another layer of what existed, that they desired to be part of or improve. The British are a some if our parts. But will always be an island.

I played for a rugby club in Cardiff, the clubs No 8 was gay, (and a good player) now his clubmates who had grown up with him could take the pi*s out of him, BUT if an opposition team member did, they faced the wrath of the entire team, the same went for our half Ethiopian 2nd row an our half Malaysian outside half! We stood together with our team mates big time. For us that was a Welsh rugby value, teams that sin together win together! Another tale from the Chartpolski book of reminiscing ! I’ve spent some great times and have some great friends in South Wales, and maybe 30 or more years ago I was staying with a Yemeni/Welsh pal in Cardiff and he took me to a club , I think it was called tha CAIACS club, it was an all black rugby club, my wife and I were the only white people in there, and an old bloke called Sammy, who had evidently been a commonwealth welterweight boxing champion came over with a tray of Newcastle Brown Ale and said “welcome to the club, Geordie” ! We had a fantastic night ! Cheers.

I dont think there's many people who would say to Daley Thompson, Lennox Lewis or John Conteh that because they possess varying degrees of tar brush that they are niggers or not british. Not would you call Mike Tyson or Danny Williams a f****n murdering muzzie to their faces. I detest road rage freaks for their amateur dramatics. Never met one who would stop their car and confront face to face. Maybe I've seem too many westerns. I see this said a lot mate and to be fair and with the utmost respect, it’s nonsense. Nobody is suggesting going and screaming “you’re not British” in anyones face…..it just wouldn’t happen. But if, in the course of a polite conversation, someone who is quiet clearly not ethnic European asked if you thought they were ethnic English, Welsh, Scottish or whatever you would have to say no, you are not. Its no more rude than telling a transgender man that he is in fact a man. Having honestly held opinions, especially ones based on actual facts, do not require you to hate anyone or be aggressive in any way……that’s a modern double speak fallacy that we seem to now take as fact.

I was great friends with the double Olympic gold medal champion, record holder and American civil rights man Lee Evans. We became pals when he was managing the Saudi Arabian Olympic team. What we had in common was Range Rovers and Land Rovers. Anyhow, I had his 50th birthday party at my house and we were at one time at another party and a friend of his, an ex American football player who went by the nickname “The Refigerator” was also there, and I overheard him say to Lee; “ has your new white pal used the ‘N’ word yet ? “ Well, I was incensed and said to the guy “ I’m a Geordie, we don’t call you niggers, we call you darkies, and it isn’t an insult, just a description ! “ Well the place went deathly quiet and I honestly thought my end had come, but Lee burst out laughing , clapped us both on the back and ordered three more drinks ! The situation was defused and we all had a great night ! Just another reminisce from an old man …. Cheers. There you go, fantastic, normal grown men having normal grown up conversations. Before the days we all became humourless, over sensitive Fanny’s !

But and its a big but, you cant leave out Ireland, the british own part of it which is very different to the south, very british in its look, ways, education systems, nhs, etc etc, we are all inter twined just turf wars that divide us, some of those daft c**ts that fight, fought and died for British survival came from here and some of the best battle regiments came from here too in all british conflicts, the problem with the british system was always the class difference and its still happening to this day, where the elite, aristocrats, royals dont give a fook about us mere mortals until theres an election or war that needs fought, then they just about keep their caviar and fois grais down when they come to ask us to help them, personally its time to do away with the parasitic pedo royal family as king charlie has shown his true colours during this invasion and its time we set up a constitution of our own a bit like the USA, where the people are in charge and elect and also vote out mps who dont do as theyre meant too with the british culture protected and no treacherous ba$rards are allowed to get it to the state its in now, it should be run as a business with lower taxes, to encourage investment, the nhs needs to go back to being national, not international healthg service, no freeloaders and any migrants not working kicked out too, a ban on some muslim countries from buying land, properties etc the nations that make up the untied kingdom and its peoples always come 1st then reach out to republic of ireland, france etc etc for any other jobs that need filled, and no 3rd worlders, if they where any good they wouldnt be 3 rd worlders, stop the foreign aid budget and become self sufficient again with food, energy etc etc. now the biggest problem is who would we trust to be PM??
