Families do look to the royal family to appear and comfort the bereaved in a national emergency. It's in the unofficial contract. Not for me at all, but the majority of people expect a speedy appearance from representatives of the royal family. My post is honestly not an opportunistic, cheap dig at the royal family, but one of genuine surprise that his advisors have not ordered him to Southport to show some respect and leadership.
