The problem is that the women athletes are fearful that their entire lives and futures will be ruined by refusing to compete with men. They have spent their lives up to now preparing for and gett

This is the first Olympics where I’ve got very little interest. I honestly couldn’t name any of Team GB. Cheers.

I can't wait for the sprinting events to start. My PB at the 100mtrs is 60mtrs.

felt like one

Me & my brother used to run for Yorkshire, my old man still has the paper cuttings. I was fast at the 100mtrs when younger but had two seizures when I was 11 and after that was never the same, never won one again. I still used to win the 800mtr and cross countries championships. It was good because we used to run for Wombwell and that had an old gravel track and we were beating all the kids that trained at Dorothy Hyman & Herringthorpe, both modern tracks.

The pessimist in every one thinks that, but then you have to ask, why haven't they all been busted if that is the case, they all have to adhere to Olympic drug tests.

For as long as the labs are in front of the testers you'll never find clean sport....not at the highest level anyway.

That's what the pessimist in me thinks. But then again, why did Bolt avoid testing positive when his own team members failed?

I'm sure it was the 88 Olympics in Korea 6 of the 8 .....100meter finalists were found to be using PED...Ben Johnson...caught all the flack cos he got caught straight away ....the others got caught later when they re tested the samples as technology got better with the testing....think the same happened in 2012 in London....forgot the weight category..but the weight lifting ended up the 7th place competitor ended up with gold....all of them in front of him...and a number behind him all got pinged for doping

Apparently all 8 failed.......realising it would be a total embarrassment to announce that every athlete failed in the most watched race in history the Olympic committee of the day decided there would have to be one scapegoat " and make sure he isnt American ".....

Besides being Canadian the fact that Ben Johnson could barely read/write or string a sentence together probably helped in their decision making.....poor ol f****r always felt for him.

Better finances = more accurate clearance times, better screening/lab evaluations....basically a better service from molecular level up...................or plain old fashioned " face of sport " corruption, take your pick.

I'm not sure mate. Why make him the "chosen" one and not someone else? If corruption is rife, why not just run a sport corrupted and let them all off? Why drag the sport through the dirt like that?

They are probably much quicker than that mate.I was in the high 14's/15's from the top of my head and I think I was in the 8-11 age group, it may have been in the 11-13's though so would have to check.

This is 30 years ago and we never really trained that hard, youngsters these days will be light years ahead.

So I just had a quick look at Google thought I would check out Ronaldo and Mbappe...both did a 30 meter run...and from those times it worked out at 11.60 seconds....both these guys are renowned for being quick....so don't tell me some 15 year old is running in the 10,s

As a guideline if you's are on about the 100m i went to see my pals boy win the under 13's District Sports 100m recently in a time of 12.25 which was certainly his school record not sure about district record but he competes for Thurrock Harriers so decent level athlete.
