Both bred out of greyhound bitches I didn’t disagree with what you said I only stated that it was probably easier to source a stud that as you put, competed at the highest level than most bitches you could get your hands on. And of course the majority of first cross litters have the greyhound as the dam no matter what the sire is. There probably aren’t many scenarios in which it would be feasible to have the greyhound as the sire especially if pastoral/terrier or bull type bitches being the dam 1 Quote Link to post

Lol It was just a tongue in cheek comment. Totally agree with your reasoning behind the greyhound stud.... But I'd still prefer to use a bitch greyhound lol 1 Quote Link to post
Sirius 1,391
I can’t say I am too taken on first x collie types as often the litters are very variable imo. Tend to have always opted/ended up with a more Lurcher x Lurcher breeding with a large dollop of collie in the mix. Few old pics, all dead now except the black and white dog. OldPhil 5,654
In my opinion,...most pastoral F1 Hybrids can usually be improved upon.... Edited July 30 by OldPhil 3 Quote Link to post

I must say the same with this one, nothing like I used to do. He’s handy though, works the lamp well and is strong and easy to train. This season is looking good as my sons motivated to get out on the lamp and I have picked up some good ground! I would love to see a few more pics of your dog. I wonder if any others are on here from that litter! Quote Link to post
shaaark 10,691
Some really nice looking dogs on here, fellas. Got to say, as really versatile, fridge fillers, greyhound/collie/whippet types are hard to beat. Edited July 30 by shaaark Quote Link to post

These smaller type lurchers seem to work well in dense woodland, and they can get into places fairly easy.. Edited August 2 by OldPhil 8 Quote Link to post
