I understand it's greatness but that is one movie that I just can't take to, I don't think it's really scary at all and I think she is terrible in it, RIP nevertheless.

And nowadays what is scary ? Lol

I've watched a heap of cartel executions ,Afghani russian  war atrocities, what is scary ? Don't believe in ghosts, spirits ,afterlife, it was a good film ,jack Nicholson  brilliant

I just can't get it pal, I think they both overplay their part, especially her. I can appreciate the cinematography. Lol

Films based on books nearly always disappoint. The book is normally better. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was an exception though. Top film and some brilliant   performances. I wish I had a pound for all the nurse Ratcheds I've met.

Agree totally, you read the book ,and your imagination creates the story ,a film is someone's interruption of the story

You watch the Exorcist now and it's pants, comical ,and in its day was scary, guess times change ,when Exorcist was out I'm guessing teens weren't stabbing each other up ?? I'm on about school kids ,not mods and rockers!

The Exorcist freaked me out when young, always had a strange feeling with that film. It's because I can remember my mother telling me about what it was like when she watched it, she was that scared she had to sleep in her mother's bed for a few days after, a priest was at the cinema telling everyone not to go in and watch it.

The most disappointing film based on a book was, for me, Catch 22.

Catch 22 is probably my favourite book, a book I can get enjoyment from every time I read it, but the film didn’t convey the same emotions as the book .

On the other hand , I found the film Doctor Zhivago far superior to the , admittedly, classic book .

Jurassic park for me was a total shambles! The book is far superior. Don’t even get me started on Shogun adaptations!!!!

Totally agree on Catch 22 . Classic book, poor film.

Never read Dr Zhivago but I watched the film decades ago. I will watch again and maybe read the book.

I may be a bit biased as I’m a great fan of Omar Shariff, he was also excellent In Lawrence of Arabia, and I’m convinced my grandson looks very much like Shariff as a child ! LOL !

Remember the exorcist being very controversial when I was in secondary school and lads at school blagging there way into the odeon cinema to watch it despite the god botherers outside most cinemas telling people not to go in to watch it. Don't think any film since has got the religious ones backs up since to setup protests outside cinemas.

Never go lamping with the memory of a horror film in your mind. Two o'clock in the morning and a branch brushing against your face or a vixen's scream can makes you feel like the prey and not the predator.Lol
