Qbgrey 4,086
I wish I bought more gold when I lived in Asia, 24 carat stuff, I’ve got a bit left but it’s gone right up over the years but then so had food, clothes, houses, cars, if I kept my old cars from the 80s I’d be cashed up, mk 2 escorts, brook lands 2.8i capri, Granada, minis, fiat 131 mirifori sport, the list goes on. Buy anything now and wait 20 yr it will if made money. Except women they cost ££££££ and don’t make you any ££££££

Bush Rummager 4,509
Premium bonds are hit and miss but that's part of the attraction.. obviously you never know what you're going to get. I find over the years your wins will average whatever the interest rate is so you'd be getting around 5 k in wins over a year I should think if you maxed out 50k each for you and the Mrs. 50k is the max per person. I enjoy having a flick through the big winners each month hoping to see holders with small amount landing a big prize! I know I'll win one of two 1 million pound prizes each month but wedge of 50 or 100k would do nicely! Borr 5,805
I'd chip it off my mortgage, but if I was mortgage free and looking to invest I'd either have a little crack at a business , maybe making canal boats or metal sculpture as it suits my interest or I'd put it aside for house deposits for kids. If I was well off and young enough I'd probably buy a load of cheap Spanish properties and sit on then until good times came around again....
gnipper 6,426
I'd pay my mortgage off and with the leftovers put a good deposit down on a buy to let, the price of renting now it will pay for itself in no time.

Where you just buy the hull and engine brand new then he fitted it out himself. He's ad it year's and reckons he made dollar on it. Been saying he'd like to do another, especially now retired and got a cracking private mooring.

Only downside is you cant use it how you like, to an extent. Woodland doesn't even have inheritance tax. Or at least that used to be the case.
