This a thing over there ?

Recommended Posts

Pretty common for folk down here to just set up off the back of their trucks by the road and sell their extra produce. Usually all cash. Anything from fruit and vegetables to fish and shrimp. Can find home made candy sops , and cooked items in the weekends too.Lotta older people do it just to get out the house. This a thing over there ?

If you tried round  by me you probably get some snotty council official try and bum you for not having a street trading licence or av being passed by health. Me am all for it if someone wants to earn a few quid extra.

A lad at the allotments put a sign up “Fresh eggs for sale” and the council were there the next day and made him take the sign down and threatened to throw him off the allotment if he was caught selling eggs.

I thought about setting up a table in my front garden for my grandson to sell fresh hen, duck and quail eggs. He would get a bit of pocket money, learn at an early age about working for a living, people would get cheap fresh eggs, everyone a winner, but I was told it may need a street traders license so gave up the idea.

Cheers.

Don’t see much of it here in the uk. I’m all up for local people selling excess produce tbh. I’d rather buy from people who grow there own only problem with the uk is to many clowns with big noses wanting to put there 2 pence worth in getting hobby growers/sellers shut down and that twat the tax man wants his cut bit of a shame to be honest

Here in Spain they sell everything on the streets. I can buy a Louis bag, Oakley glasses, some weird carb filled roasted plant and a gram of coke from the same African chap
