I feel we now have a tourettes conspiracy... If I'm honest it's one of the better ailments unless you have the affliction yourself , I often find myself biting my tongue and my humour can be selfish and outrageous, I remember being in a funeral car and saying "they're driving past her neighbours to say you're next" my aunt lived in a sheltered block, maybe it's how I care to deal with difficult situations, my old man had a scrap man with a stutter and used to say f***ing spit it out son, which made the guy relax and then he was fine, sometimes we need to add a little humour to a situation to make it more tangible or bearable . When hearing complaints about absent subbies in the canteen , everyone stabbing each other I just say " sack the clunt" or if the make any slightly demeaning comment "sack the clunt" . I do find myself stopping myself more often these days as it's insensitive and can be upsetting for folk. I obviously don't have tourettes or know anyone with it but it must be a serious social obstacle....

I thought about your post deeply. I have concluded you are neurologically sound. Relax, you are just a c**t.

In all seriousness, so called neuro-typical people discussing people who’s brain works a little differently is always the same…..it’s always “well why can’t they just force themselves to not do it” or “I don’t believe it has to be as bad as that”

Its one of those things that until you have real world experience of it you can never understand it.

Anyone ever sit at the table tapping their heel on the ground and not even realise they are doing it ?

Same thing…..but yours is accepted and theirs is looked on as weird.

Its part of who they are.

I think you have to take the humour from these things and if you have neuro divergent people in your life it very quickly teaches you not to take yourself or life too seriously……in fact the constant gift is watching “normal” people who are uptight about social acceptance (like almost 99% of people are) reaction when neuro divergent people are just doing and saying whatever the f**k they want and not caring one jot……it’s amazing !

Also, if they hate a place or a situation they don’t moan about it like us in the car on the way home, they say then and there out loud “This is shit, I hate it” !! Brilliant !……if only more of us were like that.
