Maybe its just me but these days i think we make a mockery of such memorials/remembrances.......to act proud for 1 day of the year and spend the other 364 days of the year in shameful embarrassment and fear of being in any way patriotic just reeks of deceit......its how you live your life and the standards you uphold that truly shows respect to those old boys not how you act for 1 day.

want respect for them for one day and then have this full month pride month teaching the kids all about that shit at school

I've never gone in for remembrance days etc.

I collect and research war medals. Have taken ex servicemen with PTSD fishing with a fishing charity I help with. I support ex service men charities and events. I've helped with soup kitchens and food banks.

Show your respect with your daily deeds and actions.

Fck standing with a load of glory grabbers once a year pretending you care. Fckin prince Charles in Normandy!!!! I bet as he sailed out there he was waving at the 3rd world invaders paddling in the other direction.

This year I'm taking my son out to France and Belgium. We will once again try to find the graves of men from our village, hoping to take some flowers picked from around the village to lay by their headstones.

You mean an aeroplane, my sweetness. We're not Americans. These things also perturb me: pilot's license, defense (American), which should be pilot's licence, defence (English). Mind you, since we're losing our culture we may as well lose our language too and have done with it.

Now, I wonder how the abominable BBC, with their pathological aversion to patriotism, will honour our WW2 veterans. Fortunately I binned the propaganda lantern over a decade ago, so I'll be spared their bile and historical disinformation.

Anyway, hope you all have a delightful day. 🇬🇧

Your going to get called greb.

I wonder what my grandad would think about the world we live in today ?. Would he think that fighting,  and giving his life in France was worth it ? , or would he just shake his head in disbelief?.
